hi im 26 . i havent had my periods and im about 3+/- wks late. did 3 test they were all negative. made a app wit doc, went today. he did another test also negative, he felt my stomach but didnt do an enternal on me. is it normal? he said that i wasnt pregnant . he said i looked like there sumthing else i wanted , so i explained dat my sister inlaw did 9 test and were all negative. i asked if i could do a blood test? he said thats totaly up to me so im now waiting for results. is still possible that he was wrong when he saw me , to say that im not pregnant. could the blood test come through possitive and the urine test he did be negative. ??????

YES the urine test is not 100% accurate and the blood test is more accurate.xx

blood tests check blood for the pregnancy hormone, hCG.
Doctors use two types of blood tests to check for pregnancy. Blood tests can pick up hCG earlier in a pregnancy than urine tests can. Blood tests can tell if you are pregnant about 6 to 8 days after you ovulate (or release an egg from an ovary). A quantitative blood test (or the beta hCG test) measures the exact amount of hCG in your blood. So it can find even tiny amounts of hCG. This makes it very accurate. Qualitative hCG blood tests just check to see if the pregnancy hormone is present or not. So it gives a yes or no answer. The qualitative hCG blood test is about as accurate as a urine test

Yes you could be. As you have gathered from your Sister In Law some women simply dont produce enough of the pregnancy hormone in their body to show up on the urine tests. If you are pregnant it will definately show up in the blood test as these are very sensitive. Good luck!

hey yea he cud be wrong sometimes it takes a blood test to tell you but you may not b pregnant if you have been on any type of contraception like the pill etc then sometimes they can make your body do funny things all this has happend to me even i done 8 tests and they were neg but i was pregnant so any questions email me jen-666@hotmail.co.uk

Could be that you are only just pregnant. If your cycle isnt particularly rgular you coul dhave only just caught.
Look for other signs - nausia - tender breasts - or it could be that you are so desperate to be pregant that you cant accept that you are not! I have been there... took me over a year to fall for my daughter and every month was agony until i caught!!!!
