I'm trying to burn some music onto cd using Windows Media Player. It will complete just one track and then tells me that the rest will not fit (on a new, 80 minute disc!!!).

The error it gives reads "An invalid alignment was specified". I've looked but nothing on this seems to make much sense to this dumb blonde.

Please can someone tell me how to rectify this as I have a law assignment to complete today and to do so in silence is unbearable!!!

I have plenty of room on the cd's which are new and of recognised make. I've tried reducing the amount of tracks I put on the cd to just three (total time 14 minutes!) but still the player won't burn them.

Either take a song or two off, or, rip or find tracks encoded at a lower bitrate. Lower bitrate = smaller file size.

Check at the bottom of your playlist, it should give the total number of minutes on your playlist. If it's over 80 minutes, you'll have to delete a song to make it less than 80.
