I am on my second round of antibiotics for the same thing as you. I work in a central aircon office and that makes things even worse for me.
I got an otc nasal spray called Similasan. It's non-habit forming and can be used as often as needed. Also get some shower soothers. They are large tablets that you put on the floor of the shower. As the warm water melts it, the vapors WILL open your sinuses.
I also try a saline nasal rinse (not a spray.) A full warm water saline rinse goes in one nostril and out the other. It draws out all the gunk and shrinks the tissue (like swimming in the ocean). The buffered salt doesn't 'sting' as much as plain salt water. You can use a new method like Nasopure, or the vintage, Netipot.
Hope this helps.

It was suggested to me to purchase a "neti pot", it looks weird, but it works. You can find some on Amazon.com, and it is recommended that the saline salts are purchased to up in the water. It sounds strange, but it is a natural remedy for sinus problems, as opposed to spraying chemicals and drugs into our sinuses. It literally flushes your sinuses, it isn't pretty, it's not something you want to do in front of other people, like shutting the door when you use the washroom : )
All that you have blocking your sinuses will come out of your nose, you clean both sides, one nostril at a time. It doesn't all flush out right away, it takes a few minutes, so keep kleenex near you for those emergencies.
You will feel so much better, your ears will not bother you any more, you will be able to breathe much easier, and it will keep your sinises clean, reducing the chance of a cold or flu or sinus infections. It will not take long for you to feel the results, and I hope that this helps you.

I seem to always get a bad sinus infection at least once a year.
I generally wind up going to the MD because the pressure doesn't go away without an antibiotic.
I suggest a very warm shower/steam. Take a very warm wash cloth to your face and let it stay there for a few moments.
Repeat a few times.
I'd drink lots of fluids the more you swallow the better your ear is to open.
Sudafed - and motrin.
And if my ear is really clogged I warm a very little peroxide and place it in the ear. However as much as this all helps I wind up at the MD!
Also Sudafed makes those shower "pucks" to help open your nose- and or plug in type things that help the air open you up too.
Feel better.

I've heard of salt water flush before but you should use sea salt....if you live near an ocean ....that would be best....my sinuses always clear up after swimming in the ocean. As for your hearing loss....you are developing an ear infection....there is nothing more painful....if it becomes a full blown ear ache....put some rice and salt 50/50 in a sock...close it with a rubber band or something with no metal in it....and heat in the microwave until it is warm and hold it over the aching ear.....this will help tremendously with the pain....see your Dr...antibiotics will clear all of these problems up at once... Good Luck

I'd suggest seeing a doctor it's not worth trying to treat yourself and losing hearing in the long run. I just found out I have a sinus infection and feel much better after 2 days of meds. Good luck

you could have an ear infection, or you could have something stuck in your ear. Probably a glob of wax rolled too far back. It happend to me once. I thought i was going deaf suddenly. Don't try to get it out with a Q-Tip, that will only push it back further. go to a doctor and they should be able to tell if its allergies or blockage. If its blockage they have a tool that'll squirt water back thier and flush it out. Its a bit uncomfortable, but painless.

If it wasn't bothering your ear you could play with it yourself. But if you let the pressure build up behind your eardrum it could easily rupture and you're left with hearing loss. Go see the doctor for the antibiotics and antihistimines that will take the pressure off the ear and clean up the congestion. Then pay attention in the future when you start getting symptoms and use saline nose sprays and take long, really hot showers when you start getting it again.
