What are my options if I have a diploma in psychology from a private school rather than the university?

Some private colleges have outstanding reputations. A degree is a degree. If it is a valid school then your options are the same as if you had gone to a university. Sometimes, if the school has an amazing reputation (Harvard... Stanford...) then it could actually help you. Especially if you were successful.
