Baked beans on toast is the complete meal. You could live on it on a daily basis and thrive. The bread contains all the ingredients when added to the vegetable bean, the tomato sauce, the salts and the sugars that you need from protein to carbohydrates, fats and sugars and fibre.

Beans and rice together make a diet pretty well balanced in terms of the nutrients you need. Add some freshly made tortillas on the side and you have a satisfying low-cost meal.
