I just dont feel practical to be an athiest, its like you are traveling on a road with no rules defined, and rules defined by yourself can be good from your point where as bad from another its just biased.

On the other hand concept of religion dose not please me the concept of god, savior, I just cant take it.

I'm sure people out there who are in my state. have your say

Yeah! That's just like me.

In a way, I want to believe in God, for 'death insurance' purposes more than anything else though. Though I just can't because of all the crap that goes in this world...

Yet I would not say I'm a complete atheist. I believe there's something out there. Or at least I'd like to.

Though I'm not too bothered with my un-defined status. It's merely another way to define me.

Most here are right, you don't understand things.

Religion is a ritual system of beliefs created by one or more people based on concepts they think are important and required.

Religion, as practised today, is like going to the Letterman or Leno show, complete with signs that say LAUGH and APPLAUD.

Based on this concepts the general Atheist community is no different. They have their books, their prophets and their rituals such as going to the supreme court or marching or picketing. All to make their point of view the only point of view.

The first thing you find out is that most of the theologies and philosophies of the world say pretty much the same thing.

I personally chose to stick with Jesus, the first I was introduced to, as I found no other view to be better and most of the other views had rituals connected with them that I was not willing to spend time doing.

Jesus is based on a moral code and work ethics.

The moral code is not much different then many others.

The work ethics can be more demanding than some other methods, but they are easy to follow.

That's basically what it boils down to seeing what is out there and picking and choosing from several or one. The one you feel the most comfortable with.

It's not just normal to feel like you do at this point and time, it's even healthier than if you were stuck in any man-made religion that led to destruction anyhow. Sort of like the blind guide leading the blind. Take you time, try to do the best that you can with what you do and the decisions you make on a daily basis. Keep your eyes, ears and heart open and when you think of it, discreetly think of asking your Creator to manifest His truth to you. Still you can't be too careful in keeping away from the crazies so just be the best that you can for now... What more can you do??? My son began to read the Proverbs and was truly impressed with all of the wisdom that he found in just the first three chapters. He fell asleep with the book on his stomach. And we had interesting chats about it. You might want to check it out for yourself. It really can't hurt even if you don't want to believe, the truth has a way of speaking for itself... Not for nothing it is called a two-edged sword... It truly does equip a man with knowledge and wisdom and you know what they say... "knowledge is power". As long as you don't abuse it to abuse others.

I don't see that someone is defined by their atheism. Being an atheist is simply not believing in god, it doesn't mean you don't have other beliefs. I refer to myself often as an atheist for the benefit of R&S because most questions are posed to atheists or christians/muslims/jews. However I would more relate to Paganism and all things esoteric. I believe there is possibly superior or advanced beings in existence somewhere, what some may refer to as Gods, but I don't believe in the 1 true god, therefore I would say I'm atheist.

Sounds like you are confused.

Your beliefs are not a matter of practicality - it is living what you believe. Have you ever taken the Bible and started reading? I recommend starting in the New Testament, and READ the Bible. Don't worry about what other people say - read it for yourself and decide if you believe God exists.

Nobody can give you a label or tell you what to believe - we all need to make our own choices.

At least you recognise that your own standards are of little consequence in the overall scheme of things; that is indeed to your credit.
However, if you state that you are not religious, and yet still have a set of rules to live by, then you are deceiving yourself, for a set of Life Rules IS religion by the proper translation of the word.
When you say that it does not please you, are you referring to some standard that defines you as the 'standard setter' by which all things are judged?, or are you referring to your inability to understand any Truth?
This is presently perplexing, for it makes it difficult to answer.

You are seeking to validate your life, and that is good. To validate means to find purpose, and this is something that we all must do, even and especially for those of us who are in the ministry. You are not alone----you have the entire world to keep you company on your search to discover who you are. Ultimately, finding your niche in society will be a matter of personal choice. Exterior influences will play a major role, but you will have to make all the final choices. Those of us that have found Christ have made a personal choice in that direction. Those who have rejected Christ have also made a choice. Those, like yourself, that stand in limbo are undecided. God will only allow you to take one of two choices----either accept his Son or reject his Son. God will not allow you to die standing in the middle of the two.

I can understand your confusion---all of us have been there and we sympathize with you. Be prayerful and thoughtful about your life. Carefully consider both sides of the coin. A life without boundaries is a short life and is not a life of freedom. A life with boundaries is a joyful life, a long-lived life and a life worth living because having boundaries means more freedom than you can possibly imagine. Sin destroys freedom---it is not freedom.

Well, you just said you have a 'concept' of God.

What is it?

If your concept parallels what the Bible has to say about God, then at least you're on the right track, just not at the destination yet.
