Well when mom and dad were teenagers they were peeling there panties off, throwing there drawers to the side. Now they have kid and say "Just Say No". I agree, the urge to have sex is much different at 18 than at 50, much different. Put yes to often kids fall in love with the wrong person, just to find there love 2 years later and wish they would have waited. Lessons learned, be good kids and think before you give that gift.

It's hard to say from just a title and not hearing what was actually said in the message. In my Pastor's "Making Marriage Work" teaching series, one of the 6 messages is called
Partnership & Sexual Fulfillment In Marriage: Practical ways husbands can prioritize their wives above all other human relationships; encouraging wives to be sexually available to their husbands (based on 1 Corinthians 7:2-5 and other Scriptures) http://www.enduringtruth.org/store/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=771776
If the teaching is in line with the Scriptures then it is important for people to know the whole counsel of God's Word.
"But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 1 Corinthians 7:2-5

A church is also a business, and needs funds to operate efficiently. The more population, the more funds.
Sex sells and bring notice of YOUR church.
Sex attracts because it has been TABOOed too long!
The church tabooed it long ago.
It made sex a bad thing. It would only agree with sex if you married there.
It controlled the access to sex to control the polpulation.
Sex is universal. It is for everyone. Without it, we would not exist as a race.
It is something GOD designed for us to conquer and conceive!
It is a beautiful act and should NEVER have been soiled with the idea of being WRONG.
The jungle tribes have NOT become sex maniacs because they do NOT fear sex.
We have though.
We have emphasized it too long, and now it is the centre of our attractions.
We are simply going to church to listen to someone tell us what THEY think we should do!
Look to yourselves for guidance. GOD is inside you and that little voice will never make a sex maniac out of you!
Sex maniacs are not normal...are they?

I think two things about this.
1. Sex sells. This pastor knows a good marketing ploy.
2. I am not sure what his message was, but open discussion of sex in a church is a good thing, IF he was honest and factual. If it gets parents talking to their kids thats great. Unfortunately, many religious people have really warped ideas about sexuality, so I will with hold judgement over all.

I think it,s funny how many people are upset about it (not just here at answers )but think about it .for years people have made fun of christians for being old fashioned, antisex and uneducated.we break out of that and all of a sudden we,re hypocrites going to hell.Thats funny.
the truth is the christian church has recognized the need to face ( forbidden) issues head on in the church family. this isnt new its been going on for some time.(We dont all use risque advertising so you probably dont notice.)Church is,nt only for the worship of God but for teaching the family of God how to better live christian lives in a non-christian world. Sex is only one of those issues. I bet it,s as hard for a non-christian to talk to their kids about sex as it is a christian parent and sure they teach it at school but do the kids come home and talk to you about it ? and what about what they learn from other kids?
but you take a class in church where parents and children sit together and discuss these things. it breaks the ice and the feeling of taboo! And i hope the wild advertising brought in people who would,nt normaly go and that they benefited from it. peace><>

That's weird. They always make it sound like everyone is talking about having sex and no one is trying to keep our kids safe... which is BS. There is just as much on TV and elsewhere about safe sex and abstinence as there is sexual innuendo's. But, if they wanna embarrass their kids in church by having an open sermon about such things, more power to them. I'm sure they'll end up with plenty of kids not wanting to go to church for fear they'll be singled out to discuss it.

Very interesting. Not surprising though. I remember a few years ago, my Sunday School teacher did a series on saving sex for marriage for the entire church. It was VERY informative, and yes, it packed our pews.
Sex does need to be talked about, even in church.

I don't think the subject matter is taboo as many would think. I do think the phrase used to get the attention is poor taste

Church is for the praise and worship of God, declaring the gospel of Jesus Christ and leading the lost to salvation. The pastor of the church described in the article is a pervert and should be defrocked. He is leading his congregation to hell.
