I am a Wiccan and certain traditions do their rituals naked, as do solitaries.. The reason for this is we have nothing to hide from the Goddess.. We were born naked, we are part of nature and therefore find this perfectly natural.. I read the Christian reasons for it above me.. They must have a lot of perverts in their mob, but then again we know that as it's in the papers everyday.. Priests and other religious workers up on sex charges..What a sad mob of double, no triple standards they are..Love and Light .. BB.. )O(

Most religions DO NOT view nudity as wrong. In the Christian Bible, there are no prohibitions against nudity. Many of the prophets were instructed to go naked to glorify God. Baptisms were done nude. Many religions still include aspects of nudity in their practices. The Jewish Mikvah, a ritual bath requiring total nudity, is still practiced.
The Christian story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden describes a perfect world where clothing wasn't needed. When they disobeyed God, they were sent from the garden into the real world, where clothing was sometimes needed for protection, but it was never required they be clothed all the time.
Prohibitions against nudity are more the product of Man, in control of religions, for their own personal reasons, based mainly on the attitudes developed during the Victorian era, not in the historical tenets of the religions themselves.
Many Pagan and Neo-Pagan religions practice their rituals Skyclad (nude). In most Asian religions, Ascetics often spend their whole lives nude as a sign of their religious dedication.
Even the Catholic Church supports nudity as stated by Pope John Paul II:
Quoting from Genesis:
"They were nude but they were not ashamed." Furthermore, because God created it, "The human body can remain nude and uncovered and preserve its splendor and its beauty."
"Sexual modesty cannot then in any simple way be identified with the use of clothing, nor shamelessness with the absence of clothing and total or partial nakedness... Immodesty is present only when nakedness plays a negative role with regard to the value of the person."
From Love and Responsibility (1981):
"Nakedness itself is not immodest... Immodesty is present only when nakedness plays a negative role with regard to the value of the person, when its aim is to arouse concupiscence, as a result of which the person is put in the position of an object for enjoyment."
It appears that of all major religions, Islam is the only religion that specifically prohibits nudity.

Most of the respondants aren't even close to the answer. It has little to do directly with religion or beliefs, or Adam and Eve.
The reason most "religious" people today have issues with social nudity is that they only relate to being nude for two reasons: bathing or having sex.
Thus, they simply cannot relate to why a person would want to be nude for any other reason.
If the person in question is not showering or taking a bath, many "religious" people just automatically relate to nudity as sexual. Thus, they think that social nudity or nude recreation has sexual overtones - which it does NOT.
Thankfully, national opinion polls in 1983 and 1990 revealed that 72% of Americans approve of designated clothing optional beaches. To date, over 30 million Americans have experienced mixed social nudity.
Nudist resorts and communities in the U.S., reported a 300% increase in the whopping $400 million nude vacationing industry over the past 14 years.
The American Association for Nude Recreation includes nearly 50,000 members and 267 affiliated clubs, RV campgrounds, bed & breakfasts and resorts in the U.S., Canada and Jamaica.

they were only nude until they ate the apple i believe, and then they both wore the "leaves". nudity is viewed as bad because being naked, you see flesh which you think of sex. in other countries, you see women who are topless. we see that and blush, but all cultures are different. what one culture views as a turn on, another doesn't. the pagan religion does not view nudity as wrong. it is a natural thing. we were born into this world nude, so why not embrace our body? heaven will be what you make of it. perhaps you will not be in human form, but in another form. society today in many countries are so "covered" and modest. some americans look at the french and get excited or even discusted by their ways - nude beaches and some women are unshaved. this world is of many people. many people believe in different religions. and many religions have the same values and morals. but some, if not most, are stupid because we are too into things that remind us of sex.

Nudity is considered an offense to the human ... as we know that animals don't have a problem being nude in front of each other that's because they don't have beliefs or mind nor they want to make a stable society .... for human being it's necessary to keep the physical attraction only reserved to the marriage so that people can make families and help in the prosperity of their community otherwise , adultery will be the easiest way to replace marriage and making families .... and as a result the society will collapse and humanity will lose its useless mind and be the same as animals .

that is an fairly inner maximum and intimate ingredient it fairly is purely on your important different. A instruct of vulnerability it fairly is amazingly substantial for a relationship. Sharing that with others takes away that distinctive bond. Plus, seeing nudity has a profound result on our own physique shape. for this reason, porn being the rewarding corporation that that is. that is totally efficient! Seeing nudity all around might eliminate various the sexual power it fairly is meant to be for our important different. each and every time we lust or get a thrill from seeing a bare or incredibly much bare individual it makes use of up a number of that sexual power and there oftentimes isn't sufficient left for our important different. we initiate up comparing him/her to others, our eyes start up wandering, and that is harder to be truthful. Plus, that is purely icky!

We do not view the human body as sinful. there is a proper place for everything in civilized society, and the naked human body exposed to public view is the human body out of place. It is a matter of social decency, right position and right priority.
You cannot compare the Garden of Eden with the sin infested world. To do so is to invite philosophical and theological confusion. It is like trying to mix oil and water---it just doesn't happen. Eden is a lifestyle that humankind will never be able to revisit. Adam and Eve wore no clothing because it wasn't necessary for them to do so. when humankind fell, so did nature. The world was not always as violent and extreme as far as weather is concerned. In the Garden, man did not have to sweat and toil for his living----God provided everything. there was no disease and there was no death in the Garden. Adam and Eve were not required to protect their skin from any harm or hazard.
As far as what heaven will be like, I cannot say other than that those who make it to heaven will have glorified bodies like Christ. I can assure you that those bodies will be clothed because the Bible says that we will be robed in white. No one will be allowed to approach God without having on a proper garment.

It would be interesting to see the expressions on some faces if we got to heaven and GOD was naked and MAN was created in his image!
Not sure why we keep re-living the original sin. Why we turned it into a ritualistic practise.
The original sin was MAN deciding what was right and wrong. Judgementalism.
God did not intend for man to have this knowledge. God wanted man to be non-judgemental.

in many religions the body is regarded as natural and beautiful...
it is likely it is the 3 main religions due to the Adam and Eve story , that regard it as wrong

God also covered them with skins made from animals after they sinned to cover themselves. It is not modest for women to show their thighs or even wear jeans and pants that show off their shape that will make a man sin. This is considered nakedness in the Bible. In fact women should be wearing very modest dresses most of the time. I do dress very modest in mostly Mennonite type of cape dresses, and very long skirts with very modest shirts, to please God. I also show respect and wear my head covering at any Bible study or when we worship.
