I'm having trouble finding this answer on the internet: partly because I'm kind of confused what I'm supposed to answer...
Could you quickly explain it, give a good and easily understandable website (or just answer the question all together). Just so you know: it has to be the potential use of wind energy for the World and not the US.
Thank you so much!

wind energy is huge. there is no real bad side effect when used right but extreme environmentalists have complained about the big fan like rotors are killing birds already near endangerment

Wind energy can be used to generate electricity. A typical commercial scale wind turbine generator will produce 2-3MW of power. Wind generators can be placed anywhere, but are most effective in areas with relatively constant winds. There use benefits the world as a whole since wind energy is essentially pollution free.

The main drawbacks to wind turbines are the noise. You would not want to live or work near one. Reports that they are major bird killers are based on what happened at a single location where the turbines were place in a major flyway and mounted on derrick type supports (which birds used to make nests). Better sited single mast type generators kill fewer birds than cars on the highway.

Wind energy (using wind turbines) requires a fairly strong prevailing wind to be cost effective. The units can be set up off shore if the wind is strong and predictable. The larger the diameter of the fan blades and the higher up they are the more energy can be taken from the wind. Individual blades may be almost as long as a football field. Other sources of energy must be used when the wind is not blowing. Farmers are renting out the edges of their fields to power companies for wind turbines and other turbines are located in large wind farms.

Wind energy provides clean electricity, free of air emissions or hazardous waste. It is completely renewable, sustainable, and predictable. It is one of the least expensive sources of new, large-scale electricity generation. Wind energy systems require minimal maintenance and have low operating expenses. For more information, please visit the link below:
