Can someone please tell me how to count to ten in chinese?

I was just wondering how to count to ten in chinese.

Mandarin Chinese:

1= yi 2=er 3=san 4=si 5=wu 6=liu 7=qi 8=ba 9=jiu 10=shi

Cantonese:

1=yet 2=yi 3=sam 4=say 5=mm 6=lok 7=chut 8=bhat 9=gou 10=sup

There are several more variations on counting 1-10 depending upon dialect group, of which there are tons in China.... Mandarin is the standard dialect...however it is a tonal language and you will not be able to read these numbers without some listening/speaking practice so that you will how they should sound. Reading a number with the wrong tone of voice can result in you saying something totally different from what you mean. My advice is to find a CD/book/ tutor/friend to help you pronounce these accurately.
