As with some of the other answers, good old Yorkshire Pudding with sausages and onion gravy has got to be a winner.
Perhaps a day should be put aside every month to commemorate this worthy feast. I believe this meal could be adopted by many a foreign land, and there should be ambassadorial chefs going out into towns and deserts, showing what English cooking is all about!

Usually anything i can eat with my fingers! Sausage and mash with peas and lashings of gravy, followed closely by steak (rare), baked potato, fried mushrooms and corn on the cob.

I feel I should clarify that I don't actually eat sausage and mash with my fingers!!

I generally like food and eating. I think my favourite is a good old traditional English roast, but fish and chips out the paper if good as well. Then again Steak and kidney pie with lots of gravy is tasty, and Yorkshire pud with baked potatos............................see what I mean about liking food!!!! Now talking about puds, well, rubarb crumble with custard, apple and blackberry pie with fresh ice cream, syrup steamed pudding with custurd .... I could go on and on..
