Hi, I am 15 weeks 6 days pregnant, I am starting to get a bump but have also put abit of weight on my sides. for the past 3 days my back has been aching all day. I dont think is due to my mattress I think it is from the extra weight. Should I be worried, will it get worse as I get bigger and is there anything that can ease it? Thanx

No you shouldn't be worried. Your back probably hurts due to your growing uterus. Your back will eventually get stronger and the pain should get a little better. However you will have months to come of backaches. Icy Hot was my Best Friend with both of my pregnancies. Also you can take a couple of Tylenol to relieve the pain. Or you can use a heating pad.

Its completely normal for you to have some back pain while pregnant. You have something growing in your body that is not normally there. So things are having to rearrange themselves to make room for the baby. If you are a small framed person the extra weight from the baby can cause some back pain. But it should not be constant. As stated try a heating pad or water bottle and sleeping on your sides. If the pain continues and is more then you can handle speak to your dr.

i'm in my 14th week and i too am experiencing this back achiness. from my reading, this is normal and will probably get worse as the weight becomes heavier. one thing that could ease it is, of course, a massage. another are warm packs - make sure they aren't hot. you can even do stretches. this has been working for me. when you wake up, do some stretches. you'll find that this feels so good and it helps your back relax a bit. they do have these things out - pregnancy support straps - something like that which are designed for back aches. i haven't bought one yet but i may in the future. but try the warm packs, massages and stretches and see how they work for you. sometimes you can't ease the pain on that and have to let it go. good luck!

at 16 weeks you shouldn't be suffering to much from back ache...but some women do...tell your doc at your next check up...unless it gets worse, take some paracetamol to help ease the pain, unfortunately the back aches will get worse as your tummy gets bigger...try laying on your side in bed and if you have to put a pillow between your knees...
hope this helps

talking to your doctor is your best option, but i'd think a hot water bottle would do some good.
