I always like to answer these questions by saying Inoculation - needles.
Let's face it, there's something deeper. I'm 40, and childless. I'm on 24 hour standby to attend any of five of my aged relatives, should they need assistance. I'll be there, no matter how small the 'emergency'. I'll spend, I have spent, weeks in a hospital looking after one of them, when they were ill. I'll tell you what I'm afraid of; There'll be no 'me' for me, when my time comes. There'll be no attentive young man willing to put his life on hold for six straight weeks while I recover. I'm going to be old and alone, like all those poor old people I saw in that hospital. It's sad. And I don't want it. But I'm afraid it's going to happen.

To die a lonely old miserable women. I'm also afriad that I won't be successful in life. Some say that I have my head in the clouds and I do. I dream of a better life then what I have and it scares me sometimes because I think that I might not be successful at obtaining that life. I would like to get married, have kids, and a beautiful home. But sometimes my own insecurities makes me move backwards instead of forwards. Hopefully my fears will not become reality.

Getting married and contracting the HIV virus. If I'm not married, I can force the use of protection. If I'm married, I think i would prefer to do it unprotected -- who knows what he will be doing behind my back.

to die alone, is my greatest fear. think about it:

lying somewhere by yourself, noone's had to hold, noone to tell you they love you, no kisses or hugs. just think what your family will feel just to think you had to spend those last few minutes cold and alone.
