I am 31 weeks pregnant & a few times a day i am getting twinges/cramps in my lower back on the right side (I am told its the area my kidneys are in) they come & go throughout the day but when I have them they are every 10 seconds (to the second) as they are so frequent i know they are not part of a contraction but was wondering if anyone else has these? Also if i lay in the same position for too long (i.e sleeping) when i roll over or try to get out of bed my pubic bone makes a loud cracking noise, it happens every morning? Is this normal? This & these twinges are making me a little paranoid as I also get a stretching/shooting pain feeling in my virgina while I am getting these twinges in my back? Sorry i have asked three questions in one but I am getting a little worried, I am just about to book an emergancy appointment at doctors aswell.

Thank you xx

Being that far along in pregnancy has loosened your joints and may be a nerve is being pinched somewhere by the shifted position of your bones. It isn't your bones breaking or anything like that. It sounds like the loud cracking sound is a joint somewhere popping. I also had shooting pain in my back when my baby was pressing on a nerve from the inside because of the way he was lying. The fact that it's regular every 10 seconds sounds as if it may be the baby kicking a sore spot on the inside. It doesn't sound like an emergency of any kind, and they most likely can't even do anything for you (won't give you pain pills), but it might ease your mind anyway to go ahead and see the doctor. Luckily you only have a little longer to go!

Can't help with the shooting pains but the cracking is normal, not sure bout anything being broken but with my 2 youngest I had that every single morning from about 20 weeks onwards. As soon as you've had baby they should go, good luck.

This is NORMAL. I have two friends and BOTH of them have BROKEN Pelvic Bones. It is going to happen my dear, and it will be uncomfortable, but there is nothing you can do about it as it is Natural. STILL go to the doctor though. Their Pelvic Bone has been Broken for the last 2 months and are due any day now.
