doing a very simple job(non technical work) because of your boss's instruction inspite of having the high talent of technical field.
i explore the options for the karma as written in Geeta

1. continuing whatever said by boss is your duty as your boss is your guru or the God for you , duty does not mean that all the works should be fruitfull. as the job of army personnel is to make them fit wheather it is productive or not. because it is also a work which you are doing. duty does not mean that it should be decided by mind but it should be decided by heart and selfless.
ka
2. it is not the duty as you are in boundation (or bandhan ) or and you do not have capability to break it. you should explore what your mind says. boundation means you have some kind of self because of which you are not able to break it. and the real duty is selfless.self could be in the form of feeling insecurity (fear)or may be laziness
which of above is Duty or you have some other opinion please write

When you are at work you do your duty, but you also need to remember to not be attached to the duty and the rewards of the duty. This is what the Gita is talking about. It's basically saying that anything that is put before you to do to do it (whether it is being a parent and feeding the child or being a software engineer and being asked to write up a few small lines for the entire software program....this is the duty/task before you to accomplish and you should accomplish it). As you do your duty you should do it not because you will be rewarded later, not for praise, not because your boss asked you, but do it because God has placed this task before you. When you receive the rewards of the task remember to honor the rewards first to God. What the Gita is trying to explain is Karmayoga......the path of action. It's explaining that we can't avoid not doing anything....that we live in a world where we must act. And by acting we produce karma...but that there are ways in which we can produce karma so it positively effects our spiritual progress.

I have had to do many simple tasks and I often wondered why I was being asked to do them when I was skilled to do other tasks that it seemed others where doing. What I realized is that even what may seem like a simple task to me is still a very important task, though I may not realize it at the time.

Thus your duty is to do the tasks set before you. You can always change places of employment, but in each place you work you'll find that often it's a lot of people doing a lot of what seems like simple tasks to them that ultimately make the larger work get done. If you can realize how your tasks fits into the larger scheme of things you may find the tasks more fruitful. In most cases, as I've learned personally, you go from doing the nontechnical and simple tasks to doing other more technical and complicated tasks....if you are patient enough to do the earlier tasks set before you (maybe it's just human nature that those in charge like to test you to see if you are humble enough to do simpler tasks.....or as a Hindu teacher once said to me "sometimes our humility is tested to see if our egos are really ready to move on.")

There goes a story that there was once a sweeper and a priest.

The sweeper would work to the best of his capability to keep the area assigned to him as clean as possible. He was honest i.e. he had honesty of character (did not lie, cheat, hurt others etc.), honesty of actions (he gave 100% of himself to whatever he was doing at the time i.e. lived in the present, was not lazy, did not need supervision as he put in his best), honesty of words (did not lie for self gain , spoke the truth and was of sweet speech to others ).

On the other hand the priest when reciting the mantra's would be thinking of the days collection in the temple and how much he would get at the end of the day. He would mislead people and advise people to do puja to absolve their sins (which he very well knew was not required to be done) so that he would be benefitted. He would not hesitate in lying for his own gain.
He did not have honesty of character, action or words.

When the Karma of the sweeper was weighed against that of the priest- the sweeper had done his Karma according to the Geeta i.e. put in his 100% to his without thinking of the reward though he was only doing a menial task, while the priest had failed in doing his Karma according to the
Geeta though he was praying and doing puja throughout the day.

Now coming to your question - in a society where everyone does there Karma according to the Geeta - there is no need for a boss or supervision, because everyone is self motivated, self monitored and self supervised. But in the practical world duties are not generally well defined, people try to exploit others, people are dishonest to themselves as well as others. In such a scenario, I think each individual is only answerable to his own conscience and should do what he thinks is his rightful duty or Karma. If the boss is asking us to do something which we think is not dishonest and will benefit the organization from which we are drawing our salary , then we should put in our best in that task even though it may not utilize our full potential.

We will always reap what we sow.

Geeta speaks about duties realasted to mankind. The feeling of resonsibility towards these duties arises from your heart, your conscience. However you can change the perspective of the globe. Assuming that your job is the globe, you are supposed to honestly perform your duties without questioning yourself as to why you are doing this. Such questions would distract yourself from your duties. To perform your duty their is no emotional boundation. Don't do a job because you like your boss, or don't hate the job because you hate the job. It's your job, and you have to do it. Understand this fact and carry on with your duties.

I hope I am clear.

All the best...

first of all i wanna say u hello. so u r also stuck in geeta confusion. ok. i may help u out because once i was in ur place. so as u say about ur boss, i believe first u should know this-
geeta is of religion, not of god.
its a book, not god.
if u write some fiction story and then may be after lot of time finds it that doesnt mean ur story is true.

i basically wanna say that u should analyse the situation and do what is right and is not a crime. for u should know all this what i found
1. there is no soul as written in gita because in one way it says soul is what u are and then it says u have to get result for what we do.
analyse it-
it is our body which doe s work and we r soul so why shoud we get punishment even if we do somethin' wrong
this proves we arent soul but body and there is nothing like soul.
2. god has its own defination-
religiously it says god is one but then there are 3 powers-
brahma,vishnu, mahesh
what is this.
i believe god is from which this universe orignated no person
even if think little religiously-
brahma is from where universe began
vishnu is trhe one who'll never help us. he can only help by improving us by ging obstacles not by magic
and mahesh is no who is the one who makes us die
he is the renewer i.e. when we die we burn the bodies and then nothin is left. it gets decomposed. and when a lady eats food which is from earth and has a baby its from the earth where the body was decomposed
hope i was able to clear ur doubts
if it hurts ur feeling then i'm sorry as this r just my views
accepting them or not is in your hands

Work output is a function of thinking and feeling first. If both aspects make you do your boss's work [of the type you mentioned],there is nothing wrong in it. However there could be a situation when you are doing it simply because of some constraint/s of not being able to change the job that you are currently in. In such a situation, sometime your mind will simply signal you to go ahead and do the task./ job.

Karma has to be interpreted in this context.

If you place yourself in the situation where your daily activity is commanded by another,...why do you grumble at this situation you are the composer of?
If you wish to be the sole commander of your daily duties, join a monastery.
Besides, Karma is the influence placed on THIS life by activity you performed in another life.
You also cause Karma in those other lives by what you chose to do NOW.

Your question is quit ambiguous... be more transparent and expressive... thereby making it easy for the answerer to reply…

It appears to be due to your career limitations... probably you are in armed forces...

The karma for a common man and the karma for a soldier are not comparable...

In armed forces, it usually happens that you have to work under an officer who might be much less qualified than you... he may have lower IQ than you... however the jobs in the armed forces are defined for each individual... they may not appear to be productive and usually be mindless repetition of the same exercise... nevertheless, the practice goes on and on... because

IN ARMED FORCES THE LIFE STYLE IS CONVERTED IN TO A COMBINATION OF VARIOUS TYPES OF 'DRILLS' for developing a sort of natural instinct in the personnel... so that they need not waste time in applying their mind and act spontaneously whenever ordered...

The choice at '1' is the best. Geeta will never confuse anybody. It is the mind which confuses you. Geeta always says that whatever is your lot, do the works without worrying about the results. Hence decide yourself. nagarajan.

As per me, we should change this is present living hood. Bcs every one KARMA depends how he earn for his livelihood. If it is bad way the KARMA is bad and if it is good way then it is good.

If you are working for other and your ANTERMAN not follow that or feel that it is not good, you can leave that work and find another which is suitable for you.

When we are going to work for some one other, we know, what we have to do, then only we go to work, and if it is not good for our society it means it is not good. And it relates to our bad KARMA.
