How long does it take after you applied to receive some type of answer??

it depends how long it takes to verify information with your former employer. (2-3 weeks in most cases) if you were fired for some type of misconduct on your part, you can save your time filing a claim. if you feel that your former boss is lying in order to deny your benefits, i believe you still have the right to appeal.

Did you try calling the toll free number? That's the fastest way to get an answer. I was layed off for awhile and had no problem getting my unemployment. but if I was you I'd be trying to find a new job and not rely on getting anything from them in a timely manner. Especially if you were fired.

It usually takes 2-3 wks to hear. But I think you can check it online? The EEOC employee at the employment office, should be able to tell you in that time. I know you can expedite your unemployment check if you're in dire straights financially. Or at least you can in my state. good lcuk and hope you find out soon.

It depends on why you were fired. If you were fired because of missing work; chronic lateness etc. - don't expect anything from unemployment.
