I have naturally wavy, thick hair.. it's shoulder length at the moment and I can't curl it! I have curlers but they don't seem to curl it properly, how am I supposed to be doing it? I normally roll up from the ends is this right? Also, should I straighten it first? xx

I use my hair straighteners and it always lasts all day.

The way that I curl my hair with my GHD Straighteners is:

1) Wash and condition (I use the GHD range from www.salonlines.co.uk)
2) Finger-dry my hair using a blow dryer. Split the hair roughtly into 3" sections from the nape of my neck. I then spray a little GHS Iron Styling spray intothe second and using my thumb apply a small amount of GHD precision wax from the middle of the strand tot he end.
3) Using my GHD Hair Straightener I then place the iron vertical to my head, as close to my scalp as I can get it. Turn the iron about 180 degrees away from my head and pull it downwatds in one smooth move. (Very similar to how I would curl a ribbon on a gift.
4) When I have finished I always spray a little GHD dry hairspray (Medium hold)

Tip 1: The slower your perform the curl the tighter it will be.
Tip 2: If it doesn't work first time. Do not try to redo it straight away, let the hair cool down first.

I buy all of my products from www.salonlines.co.uk as these do the best deal around, they deliver promptly and I have always had excellent service from them.

I hope that this helps and Good Luck!

The only answer is a GHD straightener- It is gods gift to women...... you can pick them up at all leading hair dresses (between $200-$300) they have a lifetime guarantee and soooooooooooo worth it-
My hair appears to be the same as yours- The GHD will straighten it (to glossy and sleek)- 10 mins top-

This wonderful invention will also curl - it takes a little practise but the end up being those beautiful defined glossy bouncy sexy curls that we all love-

I always straighten my hair before curling as it gets rid of kinks and the bulk of my hair- and the end result is more defined and glossy- Product is essentia.l a little smoothing cream with a low hold level should do the trick followed by a spray wax or hairspray

Ohh my god I sound like a commerical but they truly truly work a treat

when i curl my hair i use staightners - it looks better and you don't have to pay for staightners AND curlers!!
With your thick hair - take small parts instead of big parts - this way it will curl easier.
If you can't do it then why not ask your hairdresser ! Good luck
