they would be responsible, you are to maintain control of your dog at all times, and if you dont then you are responsible for its actions. if it was only your dog then you would be in titled to the value of your pet. pets are seen in the the law as property and will only be compensated for it value

It depends on the leash laws in your area, how well they are reinforced, if you can find the owner of the dog that attacks, there are many factors. Also, it probably doesn't make much difference if your dog is purebred or not, unless you want to factor in the monetary value of purchasing another dog of similar breed.

You dog would have to go and approach teh other dog first. Therefore its your own fault for not having your dog on a lease. If teh other dog killed it and the other dog was on a lease than the owner would have to be preety vicious as well. Your dog would have to go and agrravate the other dog and perhaps attack it first, otherwise how in teh world could this happen!?

I imagine you would get the price of a pure-bred dog, plus veterinary expenses, and depending on the judge, probably some pain and suffering compensation.
