Yesterday I took a cat from this lady that was moving. She had a bunch and they were all free. I would have tooken more but I couldnt. Its been about a half a day and he is still very jittery and wont stop meowing. Ive been petting him, and i gave him room. and ive given him his space, and so far its kinda working...is there anything else i can do to make him feel more comfortable?

There really isn't much you can do. Due to the way cats naturally are, it will take a bit of time for him to get used to his new home. So far, you are doing everything right. Just don't "force" him to snuggle with you. Let him do his thing for a bit, just put him in the litter box so he knows where it is.

You can also give him a few "treats" to make him feel welcome. A great treat is a raw egg, they love them. Crack it open and put it in a small bowl. Mix it up like you normally would to scramble an egg and give it to him. He will love it and it will make his coat (hair) thicker and nice and shiney. Don't give more than 1 egg per week or two, though. Too many eggs are not good for them. You can also use canned Tuna or some warm milk.

In a little while (maybe a week or so), he will accept his new home and new "daddy" or "mommy" and will start to come to you more often and sleep out in the open instead of in a "safe" spot.

He is probably just missing his old owner. Just give him some toys and some treats. Pay attention to him when he talks to you. You can turn the tv on and see if it watches it. When we got our cat he had lived in a house with lots of cats so he just smelled everything in the house and we gave him attention when he asked for it. After we had him for awhile we went back to where he use to live for a visit and he didn't want to stay there. He thought we were going to leave him there. I guess he likes living with us more. Just give your new cat sometime to adjust. He will come around. In the mean time you can use this time to figure out his personality. Every cat is different. For instance when my brother first got his cat one thing we learned about Toby (my brother's cat) was that he liked coffee because my brother had a cup and put it down and Toby stuck his head in there and started drinking. We soon learn we couldn't leave a cup of coffee unattended! Wishing you and your new cat the best.

that is completely organic for a cat from a take care of to sense insecure in a clean difficulty and Jabba's tale is unusual. It feels like he and Jabba would be getting alongside properly jointly and that's substantial. So i does not be in any respect in touch. do exactly not tension your attentions on Solo suitable now. Cats hate to be exceeded over so in case you flow away him on my own for a on an identical time as i think helpful he would be searching for you out very rapidly. permit him conceal under the mattress and don't drag him out from there. i think of which will purely heighten his fears.

Get some kitty-candy at the store and give it to him - the love of a cat goes through his stomach...;-) Get him the food he's familiar with already, talk to him. Do you have a cat-tower, toys and dishes for him?
Be patient, he just needs a little time to adjust, but will soon see you as "his" human.
