hi I'm interested in how are instrument approach procedures such as ILS performed when the "airbase" is carrier based:) or, how the procedure is published at all.. Are the ILS transmitters stabilized like naval guns are? thans a lot for valuable information.

The signal is transmitted to the aft of the ship.
Glidepath and glideslpope information is all the way to the "round-down".
An LSO "landing safety officer" is the guy with the paddles that initates the wave-off if needed.
The ship is its own TACAN. Planes navigate to the ship and are vectored to the final approach for landing.

Read "Flight of the Intruder" by Stephen Coonts. He goes over all that in dramatic fashion. Sometimes the indicators are off, sometimes they have to change to a steeper descent, and finally they get to watch the "meatball" fresnel lens indicator...
