If Ford used Hemp to make one fo the first cars go, why can't we just unban it and use it again so therefor it would help the environment and help minimize global warming?

I highly doubt that a 1941 concept car qualifies as "one of the first cars" to "go". The much-vaulted pro-drug-culture "hemp car" was a venture by Ford into two areas: bio-diesel and plastics. As far as biodiesel or renewable fuel goes, any sugary crop can provide the raw materials for ethanol or biodiesel. Ford promoted the use of ethanol from 1908 until the 1930s, when oil prices in the US plummeted due to the development of a particular drilling component by the father of Howard Hughes. It was the abundant cheap oil that caused cars to rely on it for fuel. Now, with rising prices, other fuel sources are becoming economically viable, particularly ethanol and biodiesel.

Thinking that hemp burning (that's what you're doing, isn't it?) is going to reduce global warming is laughable. Ethanol delivers a whopping 40% reduction in CO2 emissions per mile driven on modern engines because its carbon-load is so much lower than a petroleum product. On the other hand, hemp oil is still a long-chain hydrocarbon and so will deliver much CO2 per energy unit released. It is a simple matter of thermodynamics and reaction stoichiometry to see that reliance on an oil (no matter the agricultural origin versus mining origin) is not going to beat the CO2 emissions problem.

Moving onto the second portion, we can get strong, cheap plastics with reliable and customizable properties without resorting to growing narcotic substances. Considerable progress has been made with the production of bio-renewable monomer sources for polymers, such as polylactic acid.

Unbanning hemp is not going to make hemp rope attractive compared to modern materials, nor is unbanning hemp oil going to change the chemistry and make the burning of an oil environmentally friendly. Anyone who tells you they want hemp cars should reveal that their true agenda is to make smoking weed legal, and everything else is just smoke.
