i am a victim of software counterfeiting. my model is branded for windows xp home edition. last summer i went to a local shop for formatting the hard disk. they gave a fake operating system so i couldnt get the drives. What should i do?

Do you have a genuine windows key, if so get the key replacement tool from microsoft and use it to put your legal key in. Failing that you are going to buy a key or a new copy of windows.

Go to the police and report it, immediately. Or call your nearest anti-counterfeit team.

Do you have the original installation cd for your windows? if you do then just format your drive again and install your original copy..
