it is probably an old pc..i suggest that you do format your drive and install a clean copy of windows. The registry entries that are left by other programs could be the reason for your problem and the best way of REALLY cleaning it is by having your operating System reinstalled..

Try safe mode with networking, to get there use the F8 key on your keyboard right before the Windows screen. Basically right when the computer turns on.
It will take you into windows diagnostic eviroment and you will be able to 'hopefully' fix your issue.

You need to scan your PC with a good up to date virus scanner. Try to boot the PC into Safe Mode (click F8 just before Windows starts to load and then select Safe Mode for mimimal drivers and apps). After running a virus scanner try running a spyware scanner like Ad-Aware.

You should defrag your system and this can be done by going to start-accessories and then system tools and clicking on system defragmenter.
If its too slow I would highly recommend that your backup all your documents and software on disks and then format the drive and reinstall windows.
Good luck!!!!

Crash may be a problem of the system itself , so it is more recommended to have a reformat, and a full driver check. The OS itself may have been damaged to due to a number of reasons(eg. too many blackout/brownout, crash due to virus/worm, device problem)

Unforutnately, that's not enough information to work with. It sounds like your best bet is probably to get your machine serviced. Support.com will do it remotely (via your online connection) and is only $29.
