The correct way of expressing this in English that is as near as possible to the original wording would be:
"For how long is Mr Thanh going to Lao on business?"
In colloquial English we would be more likely to say " How long is Mr Thanh going to Lao on business for?" or "How long is Mr Thanh going on business to Lao for?" - both of which are very awkward and unweildy, but this would not stop most English speakers from expressing it in one of these 2 ways.

= how long is he supposed to go, how long must he go
For how long does M.T. go to Lao on business?
= how long is he staying there
