NO WAY!!!

the Sunnis and Shia have been fighting forever and they will fight whether American soldiers are there or not. if we pull out - it'll do a few things: 1) give them no American soldiers to kill, 2) give them no one to clean up after them, 3) allow them to commit unabated genocide on one another, 4) allow them to break the country up into pieces (which i don't think is a bad thing).

It will not end war in Iraq. We have put that country in a position where no matter what we do, when we leave there will be a civil war. Then of course the bushies will say that they should have "stayed the course". The fact is that it shouldn't have started in the first place. There were other ways of getting rid of Saddam, like putting him on trial the way we did with Hitler's cronies.

It will end the American medias coverage of the Iraq War, but not the war itself.

Having illegitimately and illegally invaded a sovereign country, overthrown the government, destroyed the infra-structure and pitted one ethnic and religious group against the other, the US will walk away and lose interest.

The local and regional fall-out will last for decades.
