I have not heard of a single case of this recall toxicity involving dry food at all.

Having said that, we took our dog off the Iams dry this weekend -- it was about time to buy a new bag anyway and we decided to be cautious.

For your cat, any quick change of food can upset the tummy or trigger an unknown allergy or he may plain ol' just not like the new food. However, I think if I were you I'd call your vet. Listlessness *can* be a sign of a medical problem, but even more concerning is the change in your cat's urination. I understand that urinary and kidney problems are not uncommon in cats ... and some of the problems can be quite uncomfortable for your cat. Best to make an appointment to have him looked at.

Good luck.

Take him to the vet, often things that seem coincidental are not. Not weeing isn't a good sign.

Only the wet food was involved in the recall.

Call your vet and let him/her know whats happening with your cat. They probably have a 24 hour emergency number for situations like this.

yeah take him to a vet. They might even be able to tell you the key differences in the foods you are giving your cat and the pros and cons

my cat did the same thing a few weeks ago. I waited to take him to the vet, and was within minutes of him dying. it was kidney stones, they blocked his urine. he acted sick, didn't want to eat/drink. and didn't urinate as much. by the time i realized what he had was serious, he was almost dead...his bladder almost ruptured. please dont wait if you're truly concerned. please find an emergency clinic!!! this may not be what he has, but why risk it?
