If God gives you a set of rules, you are going to follow them because you will get rewarded for it, not because you truly believe in it. This happens very often. People will not cheat on a test only because they fear the consequences of getting caught, not because they believe it is wrong to cheat. Again, I say in many cases, not ALL. So you see, this whole religion and free will is pointless...

The point is not that you are rewarded for good behavior...at least not those who follow Christ as we are taught that we have failed the test and we are saved by his righteousness not our works.

I believe in God simply because I believe in God. I don't cheat on tests as it simply does me more harm than good even if I don't get caught. What you don't learn in school will catch up when you start working and trying to live in society. There are enough things that you have to learn the hard way, why add to the list by cheating at what you could learn. Anyone that thinks it is not wrong to cheat is not someone I want to work with or live next to.

Does it really matter if you "believe" in the rules if the end results are the same? Without rules (which are based on our belief system ) it would be total chaos. Teaching a child to believe in a god like figure is a way of teaching values. Why else will santa only come if you were a good girl (or boy).

There's your problem right there - some sects believe you have to be/do good to get the reward, others believe you're fine once some dude in a dress has dunked you into a river.
If you're lucky you'll get a smattering of straightforward answers explaining what the people of various persuasions believe, otherwise you'll just get a whole lot of accusations and/or cut and paste jobs.
So the real question is: are you feeling lucky?!

I actually don't see it that way. I believe in God because he gives me strength and faith that it will be all right. Whether I do things wrong or right, I believe he will support me no matter what. Besides, making mistakes is human, and if something goes wrong or went wrong, I just pray and trust God that it will be fine in the end. Not everything goes the way you want, but there will always be a way out.

because many people have been indoctrinated into thinking that god is the only way to be a "good person"...and what they dont understand is how a person can be good without gods set rules. i believe that a good person will help others without someone in the sky telling them doing good for others is good. i even have a friend (christian) who things me and my bf (we're athiests) dont do "bad things" because its against the laws. its VERY offensive and SO NOT TRUE. and we talk and have a good time together when we do meet and talk so it was a bit of a shock to us. and i also think some people just need someone to tell them NO THATS BAD. like how some kids only do chores because they get candy in the end or something....but a good kid will do his/her chores regardless of candy or some reward.

Your question is way off course.
Remember Religion in one thing.
Faith in God is another.
I am not a member of a religion, I am a faith believing Christian. You do not have to be in a religion to be a Christian.
You need to clarify your question I don't understand the people will not cheat on a test point.......sorry

blah blah blah, I tire of this type of question, either you believe in god (that's what religion is about) or you don't. Why is it so difficult (for some people) to comprehend that? By the way, I'm not religious.

Yeah, and if some being of some kind is all knowing, all creating, ....made you.....then gave you free will....then is gonna send you to the bad place if you don't obey.....
what an ignorant little spoiled brat god is.
Just doesn't make any logical sense.
Yet so many still cling to it desperately, hoping to find an afterlife.
