I have an active internet connection but yet it says it cannot detect any internet connection. I have tried reinstalling it, installing a better version, none worked. and i dont have a firewall

try re-installing it again, but first erase everything in program file folder that has anything in the limewire folder and than install it from the website again

if you are using a router then your router has a firewall this means you need to foward a port, but i myself use a router and do not have this problem. maybe you are choosing the wrong connection when installing.

Howzit!!
You probably have a Firewall... disable it. If not, you want to through away your computer or alternativelly buy origial CD and DVD's bro
