Floyd is just playing mind games like he always does. Do you honestly think that Floyd is that dumb? If he were dumb, he wouldn't be undefeated in the first place! He will certainly not reveal his game plan. That's absurd! I think he will box. He will box, bob, weave, parry, and counter. I think the only time he exchanges with Oscar is in the later rounds when he think Oscar is all used up. I doubt he can back up his words about trading bombs, though.

Believe me, that's just all talk on Floyd's part. He is not going to stand and trade with Oscar. He knows his best bet to win this fight is to utilize his hand and foot speed and movement and counter an aggressive De La Hoya. If Oscar can cut the ring off effectively and make Floyd more stationary, then he may exchange with him at some points in the fight, but Floyd's game plan going in is to box, no matter what he says.

He will do it but not for the whole fight. He will do it in spurts. Mayweather is too quick for Dela Hoya so there is no need to try and trade punches with Oscar. Floyd will probably go toe to toe with Oscar for about half a round and get on the bicycle for the other half. Either way it will be an exciting fight and Mayweather will win by decision. (117-112)

I think floyd would be a fool to stand and trade blows with Oscar. I think Floyd is just talking like he does before all his fights. If he goes toe to toe I think he will will get stunned and maybe knocked out because Oscar has been fighting at this weight and Floyd is not used to it. So power advantage goes to Oscar. I think Oscar is going to try to push Floyd around because Floyd is not great as he goes up in weight and this eventually will lead to his defeat. Hopefully this fight will make Floyd realize that he needs to go back down in weight.

No. A case in point would be the time he said that he was going to knock Baldy out in five. Didn't happen, did it?
He's merely hyping the fight. He claimed his tactics would be to "Make him [Oscar] miss, and make him pay." I can't see how he make Oscar pay if Floyd will be on the retreat the whole fight.
Floyd has to be weary of Oscar's power. Therefore I see Floyd boxing at range, and potshotting his way to a narrow unanimous points decision over the Golden Boy.

Cool Breeze, if Floyd slugs it out with De La Hoya he will lose either a decision or by knockout as Oscar is the bigger man with a bigger punch so this strategy would not fare well. I believe he is talking trash and will box and use his speed against Oscar and win the decision. Good question sir.

Dude, your boy must be smoking some strong weed! You are so right! There is no way in hell Mayweather is going to slug with De la Hoya! It would be strategic suicide and Roger Mayweather is too smart a trainer to even consider that, so look for Pretty Boy to run, box, move, flee, jet, haul as*, however you wanna word it, he's gonna do it!

you're right, your boy's is just wishing for a videogame fight. i see De La Hoya trying to get in close and rough up Mayweather. as for Mayweather, he's the best in the world at hit-and-run so he'll try to land a combos then step back and look pretty in the last 10 seconds of each round.
i see the De La Hoya winning via late round KO.

No way. He'll go with whats been successful for him so far, and thats box and move. Trading with Oscar would not be to Floyds advantage.

Unlikely he will slug it out with Oscar, Floyd knows speed and quickness are his surest ways to victory, and that Oscar's only real chance is to land a bomb. I don't think Floyd will give Oscar the chance to land that big left hook, but you never know with Floyd. We will find out soon enough.
