Why are muslims always targetedbecause of their religion. Dont others equally indugle in violence ?

Right... Probably others are equally involved. Russia had armed conflicts against a group in afganistan. The conflicts continued for seven long years. How could those people from afganistan develop the technology to fight back Russians? Someone was aiding them. This very group developed into Taalibaan.

Till then Russians were the villains. Some hollywood movies have also depicted (like in one of the Rambo series) russians as villains. And after 911 incident, all of a sudden taalibaan becomes the villain. The one who aided them went against them.

I believe we must realize how superpowers try to suppress other nations with their dirty games, impacting a hell lot of people around the globe. Look at what happenned to Saddam. A long period after the Gulf war, all of a sudden he is accused for inhumanitarian treatment and hanged to death. And the soldiers over their in iraq, treating the iraqis like dogs are considered humane. That's what I call hypocrisy?

What muslims did was not good either. A bunch of muslims declaring 'Jihaad', challenging the whole world, etc. They should understand and use their power for upliftment of their country, instead of landing up in such stupid acts of violence.

yeah, thats true.
some human beings are just plain violent; actually, violence has nothing whatsoever to do with a person's religion. their family background, the place they live, the people they move with, perhaps, but not so much their religion.

and the worst bit is, ppl don't really KNOW about Islam - they just swallow everything the media feeds them, and then invent ideas of their own, and then target the Muslims... without even realising that only a handful of Muslims are "bad" and that there are soooo many non-muslims practically in the same boat

Muslims connect all their actions with their religion. Today religion has become just few practices and customs done during certain moments of our life. Like going to Church on Sundays, mosques on Friday & temples on few auspicious times. But actually Religion means the way of life. It should be a complete guideline for human, dealing with all the issues of the human life. It should control every minute of our life. This can be done by remembering death at all times. Muslims very strongly believe in the Life-After Death. Whether they do right or wrong, still they believe the fundamental concept of Islam, the life after Death. So whatever they do they say it is for their God & Creator. Using this principle, the western media and a part of cunning people in the west with few selfish people in the east is doing this propaganda against Islam. But they are losing in their war against Islam as today Islam is the fastest growing Faith on earth. People follow other than Islam have made their religion as just some customs & practices done during certain moments of their life. They don’t do all the aspects of normal life in the name of religion. Hence they are not connected to their religion when they do any wrong. One example is LTTE in Sri Lanka. Although all of them are Hindus they are not referred to as Hindu Terrorists

No other "religion" in the world teaches to kill those who are not as you are. Islam teaches that anyone who is a Jew, a Christian, or a non-Muslim should be put to death. And they are carrying out the words of the Qu'ran.

The news in the United States covers every single attack by a Muslim as a crime by a Muslim, yet covered the violence that broke out in East Timor between the Protestant minority and Catholic majority over prosylitization as just plain violence. Almost no mention of religion at all.

When Belfast was ablaze on Orange Day in 2006, the BBC covered it briefly, but no mainstream American media outlet even mentioned it in their international news. When the PIRA blew up an office building in Manchester, the BBC covered it, no mention of religion whatsoever, even though there were several Protestant organization offices in the building. There was no American or British coverage of the massacre committed by Tibu, Riwu, and Da Silva in Indonesia or the violent response by over 5,000 Catholics after these three convicted terrorists were executed for the rape, murder, and mutilation of hundreds of Muslim school children. When some radical Christian men in Tyler, Texas were caught with mass quantities of explosives, ammunition, fake passports, fake Department of Defense ID badges, and blueprints of various government buildings, it did not make national news in the U.S. When a Buddhist religious group led that gas attack in the Tokyo subway, it was not covered as a Buddhist group. When Christians were hacking Muslims with machetes in Yelwa, Nigeria, the American media didn't cover it, yet they covered the less severe retaliatory attack by the parents of one of the children killed. In India, Hindus and Sikhs kill Muslims frequently. They burn them alive in some cases. Baptist terrorists in Tripura, India kill Hindus regularly too. The Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda, Sudan, and a number of other African countries kill Catholics and Muslims and have sold countless children into sex slavery.

If you take a look at history, well over 40 million Muslims have been killed for their faith by non-Muslims in the past century. Clearly, Muslims are not the only ones committing these acts by far, they just happen to be the second largest religious group in the world, so there are a lot of them, but not enough that they can control the coverage.

No. It is the most violent religion by far. Look at all the borders of the Ummah. Thailand Muslims slaughter Buddhists everyday. Pakistan they slaughter Hindus. I could keep going. Indonesia, Sudan, Nigeria, Iraq.
THere are fundamentalist Christians but taking Love your enemy literally doesn't hurt as many as taking Kill the infidel wherever you find them" literally. Also fundies like Pat Robertson doesn't create militias to slaughter other slightly different Christian groups.

I think Christans forgot about the Crusade war .when they entered Jerusalem they killed every Muslim there .Blood was to the knee.They killed men ,women,children,and the elderly.this was documented in history.And have we forgotten Muslims in Bosnia targeted just because of their religion.And the Iraq war didn't bush say it was a crusade.
