I don't know about sin, but it's a surefire sign that person is not worthy for you to follow or emulate. Your true friend will encourage you to follow your own path and see for yourself.

Terrence G makes a good point. In the story of the beginning in Genesis, before Adam and Eve ate that stinking fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they were not capable of doing evil. They realized they were naked and decided it was of note after eating that fruit. Is knowledge the cause of sin?

Every one with a job would have had to sell themselves in some way. It is healthy to have a healthy self esteem feeling good about yourself, and others, the ability to laugh at yourself, to be kind and helpful but knowing when to draw the line. It is part of our maturity to grow as a person, and to have higher self belief in themselves. For those who had had a seriosu emotional disorder such as schizophrenia, their confidence is often low, they often feel guilt and shame, and have to work harder than anybody to build themselves up. We take our self beleif for granted but at the same time most of us have no idea of the struggle others have, unless it is someone close to us. May we all pray for the people who are struggling with low self confidence and who have turned on themselves. Particularly those who have mental illness. Lets extend a welcoming hand instead of stigmatising and isolating them, and feeling frightened of them. Imagine if you or a loved one's mental condition deteriated, would you not want the love and human companionship of others. Kindness to others goes a long way in helping ourselves and others. Lets take this day, to do one kind deed for others each day, while keeping in mind their dignity of choice. May God bless you and everybody that reads this.

Pride is a sin. You already know that if your telling everybody how great you are, you probably are not that great. Michael Jordin tells nobody how great he is. He doesnt have to because performance speaks for itslef. Self promotors are irritating and ususally need a good *** kicking.
