The caveman reference is interesting, really.
Consider that the cavemen did not have our present-day access to scientific explanations for things.
WHY did the sun disappear each night, just to re-appear each morning? WHY did lightning sometimes kill people? WHY was thunder loud and frightening?
Natural phenomena (which we easily explain nowadays with Physics) were frightening, unexplained occurences to cavemen.
Surely there must be some angry, supernatural BEING who did these things! Surely there must be an explanation for this angry behavior! Surely there must be some sort of FAULT with human beings who suffered this supernatural treatment!
Now compare Christianity: "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God" - but wait! You can get back to God's favor if you simply profess your faith in the Savior!
But wait - there's more! To REALLY get into God's favor, you MUST convince everyone in your circle of influence that your chosen faith is the best - NO! - the ONLY one.
Does the superstition of the caveman differ from the superstition of certain religions? I think not.
Therefore, I would say 'yes' to your question.
Yes, Christianity is so easy, even a caveman can do it.

It surprises me that the caveman did not have any noticeable Gods or Faith. Maybe they did. Every culture of some sort had faith. A world without faith would be a sad world. It surprises me the naivety of earlier man, that they believed in all these superstitions. I guess the world is like anybody. It has infancy, childhood, teenage years and adult hood and aold age and then death. And all the dereriation and mental accomplishments that go with it.

Yea, christianity doesn't have many rules or laws you have to follow. Take Judaism for example, you have 613 rules of things you can or can not do. Now you try and see if that is easy. People like the easy way out.

Being a **real** Christian is actually probably the hardest belief of them all to follow. Why??

1 - You must actually love and pray for your enemies. God's love for us is unconditional - he loves even the worst of the worst and offers salvation to them - you as a Christian must try with God's help to do the same with your fellow man.

2 - God's forgiveness is *not* unconditional. You must forgive others or else you will not be forgiven by God. You must forgive offenses "seventy times seven". Even people who have greivously wronged you.

3 - You must live a life striving to be an "imitator of God", and an "imitation of Christ" (St. Thomas a' Kempis). God is our yardstick of comparison, not each other.

4 - You must be non-judgemental of others. God's possiblity of forgiveness, salvation, and redemption extend even to the worst among us. That fellow that you scorn and despise, and who may have offended you, may someday when it's all over, be standing next to you in heaven, believe it or not. We are all dirty and soiled in some way in the eyes of God. (Isaiah 64:6: "All of our human self-righteousness is to God as a filthy garment".

5 - Most important of all - you *must* believe with your whole heart and soul that Jesus Christ is God made man, for the purpose of dying to atone for the sins of all mankind, including yours and mine, paying for our sins with His shed blood on the Cross, freeing us from bondage to sin.

Unlike many other religions, you cannot, as a true Christian, "buy your way into heaven". Some people are under the false impression that if you say a certain number of set prayers, go to church x times a month, give to this or that charity, or some other such religious formula, you will by virtue of that go to heaven. Nope. Jesus actually had a somewhat dim view of people who spent all of their time in self-righteous prayer, fasting, ceremony, religious legalism, etc., but were not caring or compassionate to their fellow man. (example - his opinion of the Pharisees)

Ask yourself this - how many people can and do (even professed Christians) really try to follow and believe 1 through 5 above? Many people honestly try their best, but many more are Christians in name only.

caveman is good - i'd rather be in a cave with good company than in "civilsation" with brutes. I love the Christ, but I don't follow religion - i try to follow my heart. Seek and ye shall find!! And Love, love, love!!! Only those who accept their shadow sides become whole, so you are obviously an advanced soul my brother!! Peace on this beautiful planet and to you. Like the cavewoman - i endeavour to be spiritual rather than religious. Follow your heart!! x
