Aspirin is toxic to cats; although small amount like 1/2 of an aspilet (childrens aspirin) can be tolerated by an adult cat. If your neighbor's cat develops kidney problems or dies... well, that's your fault. You should NEVER give a cat human medications. Cats have a different metabolic system from us and what can cure us is often fatal to them.

Aspirin and tylenol can be poisonous to a cat, that's why your neighbor was upset. But why was his sick cat in a place where you could try to treat him? If his cat was running around outside, sick, then this neighbor needs to take his cat to the vet and not rely on the kindness of neighbors (and then chew them out when they did their best.) However, you should never, under any circumstances, medicate any cat that isn't your own without talking to the owner first, and maybe not then.

Without details of the situation, I can't say if your actions were wrong.
But I wanted to make the point that aspirin is NOT poisonous to cats-my vet has had me give a miniscule amount to my cats on several occasions. I wouldn't give it on my own though-the effective dose is very close to the dangerous dose. I'm sure you were trying to help.

maybe because you Medicated his cat with something that could harm it.
why would you give the cat Aspirin even if the cat is sick Aspirin is mainly for pain not something that would help with an infection or anything
not trying to be mean here but i think your Neighbor has a valid reason to be upset, i think you should apologize and maybe explain that you thought you were helping

What's wrong with YOU?????
What on earth are you doing giving other people's cats
ANYTHING!!! Let alone aspirin, and in tuna fish!!!!
1) You could have killed the poor thing(if you don't know aspirin is a blood thinner...equals internal bleeding)
2) Tuna fish is really quite bad for cats.
I think your damn lucky your neighbour just got mad. Others
could have been furious.
HINT of the DAY: Human medicine is for HUMANS, Animal medicine is for ANIMALS.
You might say your kind......I say kind of stupid!!!!

Feeding cats aspirin will KILL them as it works the same on cats as it does on humans it thins the blood!!!! In cats they can bleed to death, as if you feed a dog panadol it can kill them so, i know you meant well but leave the medications to the vet. sorry to say it but now you know....regards

not your cat, not your place to give it anything. as far as meds go anyway. i understand you were trying to help. and if the cat does not seem to get better, and is still running around outside ill, i would take it upon myself to take it away from him and give it a good home and a vets care. but thats just me. people who don't care for their pets properly don't deserve to have them and the law be damned if they come after me for taking them away. i've only done it twice. once for a kitten my cousins friends mom made her put outside on the porch to die cause "its gross to see". i took her to the vet and she got better at the cost of $300. they wanted her back after she got better but am glad to say she lives happily in a better home and is 7 years old now. the other was a rabbit in a cage that had not been cleaned for months, the owner, my upstairs neighbor, left him in his cage on the upstairs balcony for a week. i fed and watered him. she said she couldn't take care of him cause she was too busy. she had no job, only partied 24/7. so i took him and gave him to my brothers father-in-law who resques (sorry, my spell check is gone for some reason.) unwanted rabbits. he is out of a cage and with lots of other male bunnys living life to the fullest. so, you see what i mean? if the owner will not provide care for his ill kitty, take matters into your own hands.

Well anything we humans can have surtain dogs or cats can't have and it can kill them or do worse to them. Your neighbor should take the cat to a vet to get the proper medication for the animal.
I REPEAT giving animals human medication is NOT a good IDEA!

What's "wrong" with him is that he knows, unlike you, that asprin CAN KILL CATS. NEVER give cats human medicine without consulting a veterinarian.
You could get sued!

Apart from it being highly dangeorus to do so, do you just not get that this is NOT YOUR CAT TO MEDICATE?? If he's only mad at you, consider yourself lucky - next time, educate yourself before trying something like that.
