I heard that some people do not recommend installing windows vista until the final version. Is it that windows vista will also have what XP have like XP professional or XP windows media centre in later years? (So it will be called Windows vista professional and Windows vista special) I had one windows vista dvd now..

They are probably referring to when more patch's have been release to problems that Microsoft and users or just now finding, like security issues and other software problems, basically they are waiting until a more stable version is release of already offered vista products, meaning Vista alread has various levels of it software like basic, ultimate and others, son the names might stay the same but updates will be issued.

The final version of Vista is now out and in retail stores. Anything added on will be service packs like XP. XP came out with service pack 1 then service pack 2 for security updates. Vista so far is much much superior in security but still behind in mac os x and linux but compared to XP it is a huge milestone. Vista already has professional versions and a Vista media edition. The different versions are from lowest to highest are...

Home Basic
Home Premium added Aero (Glass) and Flip 3d.
Ultimate
Business
Enterprise

Good luck in choosing the right version for you.

Howzit!!!

Run Windows Vista now and no problems except that you have to spent hours searching for drivers over the Internet... other than that its really cool, user friendly and its definately the thing to show off to friends and family

And everyone will want to touch you computer and you'll be laid back on your computer chair slapping anyone who attempts to touch whatever is on you table...

I dig vista BUT I don't dig the fact that you have to suffer to reap the benefits :(

vista is a mess right now. I wont even consider putting it on my pc till the first service pack is out. this is the worst roll out of a new OS from windows ever. In my opinion just sit back and wait till ALOT of the bugs are worked out.
