Those countries did not attack us. Their military was not directly involved, and their govt never declared war on us.

At worst, you could claim that the terrorists were based in those counties. But most of the evidence strongly shows that they were primarily based in Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia.

Who believes that? Pretty much every major intelligence agency and US govt report issued in the past 2-3 years.

And check your history for WW2 and Pearl Harbor.

First, there is not one scrap of evidence tying either Iran or Iraq into 9/11. Given that the two countries have a milenia old antipathy it is extremely unlikely they would do anything together.

Second, the United States has gone to war as the aggressor several times. In 1848 against Mexico we waged a strictly imperialist war for territory, and in 1893 we did it again with Spain. In both cases we manufactured incidents to justify our naked aggression.

The wars we waited to be attacked, ironically, were the two world wars. Despite the attacks on democracies by totalitarian regimes we ignored the fight and tried to duck.

9/11 was an act of terrorism by a criminal conspiracy. The acknowledged perpetrator is a Saudi who hated Saddam Hussein and called for his overthrow.

If Osama is still out there, he must be laughing that we have done his work for him, destabilizing Iraq and removing the secular government so his extremists can make a run at real power.

I think you're over-simplifying. Yes, we were attacked on 9-11, but not directly by Iran or Iraq. One of the reasons it happened was the mindset that we couldn't defend ourselves until after we've suffered an attack. We knew it was coming;it was in the back of every American's mind that one day soon there would be a terrorist attack, but we didn't think it was right to do anything about it until after it happened.

It became immediately apparent that was the wrong approach, that we need to defend ourselves before the next explosion.

Now we've been involved in Afghanistan and Iraq and there have been no major attacks on US soil in over 5 years. Is it because people started liking us all of a sudden, or because it was the right thing to do.

The 9-11 attacks were carried out by a criminal organization much like a gang. They were not at orders of or under government control during most, if not every part, of planning these attacks. So, it is in no way justified to carry out an invasion of a country for the actions of a group of citizens.

Iraq- Ruled by Saddam Hussein for over 35 years. He was responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths, including the gas attacks of 5000 Kurds. He attacked his neighbors. He attacked Israel with SCUD missiles. He was attempting to build a nuclear arsenal. Why in the world would anyone want this man in power?

Iran- State sponsor of terrorism. Especially Hezbollah. Hezbollah is one of the largest, well funded, and most organized terrorist groups in the world today. They are responsible for countless deaths worldwide. Iran has been responsible for the kidnapping of American citizens, and the deaths of people ( Especially Americans and other Westerners ) for decades. Why do we need these folks around?

One doesn't have to fire on us on our own soil to be a threat. The object is to take the fight to their shores, so we don't have to fight them on ours.

For all of you liberals that think its wrong to defend ourselves remember when they take over (Muslims) you will be the first to die at their hands. For you are all of the things their religion is against. They are even more conservative in their beliefs than Republicans. Take note of how they treat their women and remember they believe firmly in the death sentence. Try holding one of your candle light vigils outside the prisons and they will lop off your heads. Someday Its my greatest wish that all Americans would understand that these people want to kill us simply because we are not of their religion. They are not interested in talking to us and they will make no distinctions between Liberals and Conservatives given the chance they will kill both and think they are doing what their GOD says for them to do.

Iraq and Iran *didn't* attack us.

Al Queada did, and they do not operate on the behalf of any one government.

They operate apart from most governments, certainly from Iran and Iraq.
