Do you think that if the Democrats pass a Hate Crimes Bill that they will make it illegal for pastors to speak on the sinfulness of homosexuality?

Isn't it amazing that for all the talk of separation of Church and State - it is politics that try to mess with the freedom of the Church instead of the other way around! Pastor's preaching behind the pulpit what is written in the Word of God should not be dictated by politics or "governed," "controlled," or "interfered with" in any way. Pastors should encourage the congregation to vote, to be informed on the issues and to get out there and be a voice for God and godly ethics. The Word of God clearly states that homosexuality is SIN and Pastors have a God given responsibility to declare that from the pulpit. It is not hate talk - we love the person - it is "righteousness" talk - we hate the sin. Sin kills. Sin destroys. Sin separates from God. Pastors say what God says - are you going to try to silence God too?

Yes preaching will become illegal and it won't necessarily come through the democrats.

Things like that are already happening, we just don’t see it because the media doesn’t report on it and they won’t because the government owns most of them. It will take a while, but it will eventually happen.

If you want more info on the subject, the link below will help you understand why it will happen. You’ll just have to look around to find the answer, but it is there. That site is one of my favorites.

You will also get a bit of a history lesson in the process.

This is another one of my favorites. http://www.allaboutgod.com

Why the vilification of Democrats? They want everyone to be free to interpret their religion, without allowing them to impose their beliefs on those who do not share them. Since when do Republicans have a right under the Constitution to dictate to people their religious regulations? If this is the case, then Muslims in this country would be allowed to dictate prayers in public, we'd all have to wear yamulkes in the presence of Jewish people, and alcohol would yet again be outlawed. I don't see anything about gay rights that violates my personal space. YOU, on the other hand, are making me very concerned for my rights to determine how I live my life in private. They aren't killing, stealing, or lying (except to protect themselves from people like YOU), so why is it any of your concern? If you want to save their souls, that's one thing. But don't use force and hate. Those are about as Un-Christian as you can get. Jesus preached love and compassion, and He even walked among lepers. If you can't handle a few gay people, well, I'd say you have a troubled faith.

As long as the government protects KKK parades from angry black people, it will protect a religious leader's right to preach hate and fear from a church pulpit.

I'm sure that they will try. Incidentally, the United States Code provides for a $10,000 fine for any government official who deprives an American citizen of their rights. Remember that.

No, but the Republicans may arrange to fire the federal prosecutors who fail to line up trumped up corruption charges with the date of elections of the officials in question.
Oh wait! That's already happened.

No. First of all it's called "freedom of speech" Such a move would anger the Christian community and if for no other reason, they would not want to jeopardize loosing the Christian vote in elections.

Only if the church continues its attempts to meddle in politics will that ever happen.

As long as they don't try to set policy they will be fine to preach on with their hate.
