There is a story in Islamic history books about prophet Muhammed who sent one of his companions (Muhammad Ibn Muslima) along with two other Muslims to ASSASSINATE one of prophet Muhammad's enemies (his name was Ka'ab Ibn Al Ashraf), who happened to be half brother of the assassin (Muhammad Ibn Muslima). When the assassins went to teh victim, they called him out of his home and when he answered them they started talking together until they made sure he had no suspicion and then they KILLED HIM, cut his head off and brought it back to prophet Muahmmad who praised them.

(1) Is it allowed in Islam to assassinate non-suspecting persons?

(2) Is it allowed to kill your own brother if he does not share your faith?

Let me say that you are a master in deception. You start by posting the question without the link, then after you get some answers that this did not happen you post the link.

Way to go.

Now, do you read Arabic? I strongly doubt someone gave you the link and the story and you are posting them without the ability neither to READ nor understand.

Arabic is my native language so I can read it.

The story you are talking about is not true in the following sense
1-it is not his half brother and I dare you to prove me wrong
2-there is no mentioning in the story to bringing his head to Muhammad PUH you are just making it up.

You need to show CREDIABILTY my friend. It is important for people to TRUST what you are saying.

Edited later

Your e-mail to me does not prove anything pal except that you don’t read Arabic because the part that you sent dose not say that he is half brother. The one who gave you the information mislead you simple right?

1- If you are convinced that what you said is true why did not you post it instead of e-mailing?
2- Do you know the difference between and a hadith and it’s translation? This is not a hadith this is simply a story and if you read what you are posting which I doubt that you can do it on your own you will find that the victim was a source of harm to the Muslims.

I have never heard of the story you have wrote above. Being a muslim i should have heard of that story. Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) had no brothers half brothers or sisters.
Now about your questions
It is not allowed to kill asssinate non-suspecting even suspecting persons. For punishing someone who has committed crime there must be two witnesses.
So islam does not permit any muslim to kill anybody on behalf of the faith. It clearly says in the Quran

109:1 SAY: "O you who deny the truth!
109:2 "I do not worship that which you worship,
109:3 and neither do you worship that which I worship! [1]
109:4 "And I will not worship ~hat which you have [ever] worshipped,
109:5 and neither will you [ever] worship that which I worship. 109:6 Unto you, your moral law, and unto me, mine !"

Yes, I have read about it. It has always intrigued me that muslims who don't know the history of their own religion and what actually gave rise to it, are so quick to get bent of shape when someone tries to explain it to them. Here's a little something for "Proud2b" to ponder. Why since the "Christian" (Vatican/Catholic) Crusades has there been such close ties between your ayatollah's and the Vatican? If you disagree, then can you explain to me why I have seen close-up pictures of some of your muslim clerics wearing rings with the Vatican Council's signet on it? Please do explain. I know it will be a real vein- in- the- neck, blood-pressure raising ordeal to consider that your "religion" may very well not be what it appears to be, but be "open-minded" and objective. Haven't enough young muslims died in vain fighting someone else's fight? Re-read my first question and begin your journey.
