that by believing in Jesus you will be saved from death? I'm Catholic. I believe in Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, the 2nd divine Person of the Holy Trinity, our Redeemer & Saviour, the Messiah..... When I die, I die. I will experience death some day. My lungs will stop breathing & my heart will stop beating. It's my soul that will meet Jesus for the first judgment. When Jesus comes to earth again, He will raise all of the dead. New skin and tissues will form on our bones. Our souls will reunite with our new physical bodies. Jesus will lock up Satan in hell for 1000 yrs. Evil doers will go to hell and the righteous ones will live on earth with Jesus Christ. This is the Final Judgment. After the 1000 yrs, Jesus will let Satan out and Jesus will take the righteous, body and soul, to Heaven with Him forever.
I've read here that u believe that u will never die but will always live. It's your soul that lives forever. Not your body. It dies for a time. What type of Christian r u?

I say I am Catholic becuz I am. I know I am a Christian also people! I'm not ignorant! It's just that Christians here believe that Jesus is the Son of God and after that they have differences. Why don't you all say if you are Baptist, Pentecostal, Lutheran, etc.
I not only follow Christ but I follow St. Peter's successor, the pope. That's why I distinguish myself.

If you're a Catholic, are you not a Christian too? Why do you distinguish yourself separate from Christians?
I do not believe I will be saved from "death", I am a flesh and blood person, I will physically die. But belief in Christ saves me from "spiritual death", meaning eternal separation from the Father.
I do not care to spend eternity being punished in Hell, and the redemption of Christ on the cross keeps me from having to do that. So I believe, and accept Christ as my Savior.
Hope this helps you.

I agree with you about what will happen when we die we just die and the end of the earth as God will make a new earth and that is our reward at the resurrection not heaven because no one is in heaven(John 3:13), but I also believe its more than just believing in Jesus will get you saved you also have to follow what God says in his laws (Matthew 19:17)because if you don't follow the laws in the bible you can never fully experience what it is like to be a full obedient christian. It is just like the laws of a city, they are put there for our own good. I am Church of God Seventh

It may be the doctrine of the rapture that is confusing you. The second coming of Jesus is in two phases. The first is the rapture of the Church (which we expect to happen soon), the second is His advent to earth to set up His Kingdom on earth. If you are living when the rapture takes place then you do not die - you are changed and your mortal body changes to immortal. If you died before the rapture, then your soul and spirit reunite with your physical body that is resurrected from the grave and you "rise first then those that are alive and remain will be caught up together to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord." That is the only time you get out of here "alive" without going the way of the grave.

I believe the people that say, they may never die believe, they will live till the rapture of the church , behold I show you a mystery the dead in Christ shall rise first, then we who are alive and remain, shall be called up in a twinkle of a eye, and receive our new incorruptible bodies that will never die or age, this is what the apostle Paul said, when he spoke of the rapture, an after the rapture we shall forever be with the lord, those of us that are still alive when the lord calls us up, will never die..the body of coarse would die being human, but the lord calls his people out, before this could happen , see were not crazy, were just believers in Christ!!!

I am Orthodox Christian, and I agree with about the first half of what you were saying but the point where you reached "first judgment." Everything after that I disagree with almost entirely. And when most Christians say that we "never" die, it is indeed our spirits we are talking about - not our bodies. To be specific, I am Coptic Orthodox Christian - these beliefs don't hold true for Orthodoxy only, I'm sure many other Christian faiths believe that as well.

Believing in Jesus wont save anyone from Death.
..On the Contrary.
It's about what happens to us, *after* we die, that the Lord saves us from. Or actually, gifts to us.
..and as far as the question: Aren't Catholics, Christian? And ummmm, i'm afraid there's a fairly mammoth line between the two.
"Christians" are historically, Protestant. Which is most certainly NOT the same faith as Catholic.

And can you tell me where on earth all these people going to live? There are currently 6 billion people on earth. We are talking about at least 3-4000 years of people having been alive and have died, that makes about a gazillion (actually i can't count that high) number of people. The earth cannot sustain the people we have on it now or that kind of life and frankly neither could we. Sorry but of all the things I have heard this takes the cake. I was born a catholic and I have never heard that.

I, too, am Catholic. However, the Christians that say "I will be saved from Death" are referring to eternal death. Remember, Jesus said, "even though you die, you will live."
We all love Christ. Let us not squabble about the details.

There are two deaths. I don't know what others have been telling you, but the second death is the one that can be helped.
I don't know any Christians that do not believe in the death of the body.

It is you that is confused we believe we are saved from the second death which is the firey lake and you who profess to be Catholic also consider yourself Christian and should understand the price was paid it is the death of the flesh of our lord Jesus.. The wages of sin is death and it is death that we are saved from.
