No, your carton of milk is not God! The reply, "Yes, No, Maybe" is what you get from anyone you ask help from, not only God. In the Bible it says, "My God shall supply all my needs, according to His riches and Glory". What you need to understand is that God promises to supply all your "NEEDS", not your "wants". Wants and needs are two separate things. Asking God to let Liverpool beat Arsenal and allowing a large payment to go into your account is what you "want", not what you need - so God may not answer. Getting your marriage certificate could be what you need, so God answers! When you pray and ask something of God, your prayer must be sincere and asked for correctly - never take God as a genie in the lamp, always ready to do your bidding! You need to learn to fear God first before you can come before HIm with your request - "The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom".
By the way, anyone who prays to a carton of milk and believes that that carton of milk is God should definitely go see a shrink! You need help!

Hmmmm.......well the entire universe is the manifestation of God and thus in a way retains the divine spark of God. So in a way...Yes. But then again God can be accessed through any outlet you so desire (or no outlet at all) and can be called by any name. The Tripura Rahasya states that no matter what name and/or form you direct your prayers to God will hear them (because afterall God manifested the entire universe from Its very existence and is both the manifested universe...i.e. all names and forms...and also the unmanifested...i.e. beyond all names and forms). And the Rig Veda says "There is only one God, though humanity calls It by many names." So to quote Swami Chidanand Saraswati, "Go to God. Whatever name, whatever form you worship is no problem. Just go to Him. He accepts all names and all forms. If God can be worshiped in only one way then He is not God!"
Congratulations on your marriage!
Great question!
Peace be with you.

This is an interesting question that I have thought about for a while. If God will just decide yes no or maybe no matter if we pray or not does our prayer actually affect anything? Apparently they do as one verse says, The prayers of a righteous man accomplish much. It is a mystery how God influences the day to day of the world or why God wants our input but He does. If you are only testing Him though I wouldn't bother praying. It is probably better for a righteous man to try to change his motives to match God's will.

God hears all of your words spoken and thought in your head. If you pray to Him while looking at a carton of milk, He knows that you are really praying to Him and He will answer you. If He knows that you are actually praying to the carton, He will ignore your ignorance and make note that you have made an idol to worship out of that carton of milk. Worshiping idols is a sin.
There is no other God besides God. Your carton of milk is only a carton of milk. But if you want to make it your idol, then that's your right, tho a sin. But that doesn't make it God. Just your god.
P.S. Get real!

God may as well be your carton of milk, or a cow..pat in the paddock, for all the help you will receive from him. I just read in another answer that according to the christian who gave it, Gods soul reason for creating us was so that we could worship him! Even a mere mortal parent has much better reasons than that!
Glad i havent got an egotistical parent like that!

If you had asked your questions to anything, the answers would have been "Yes," "No," or "Maybe." That does not mean the thing you asked is what is answering.
If 1000 people pray that Team A will win, 1000 people pray that Team B will win, and another 1000 people pray they will tie....whose prayers are answered?

I'm in Vietnam too, in Hanoi at the Hanoi Kangaroo, and I believe in God.
If you're in Hanoi send me an e-mail and I'll meet you at the Amazon, Polite Pub or Pinky Moon in Hang Hanh in the Old Quarter.

Try and be smarter. You are not really that stupid. Making fun of Holy things is a very dumb way of applying your brain. Still, you are free to continue but don't complain afterwords when something really tragic happens to you...
And to "LETS AV IT!!!" : yes, you were the result of that f*rt(your birth)! And you still continue being this to this very day! How can you look at yourself in the mirror?!?!
