I am feeding my dogs Kirkland canned food and haven't had any problems. I called the phone number on the can and was told that none of Kirklands pet food is involved in the recall. Because the recall has been expanding each day it is wise to check the status of ANYTHING that you feed your pets. I switched my 4 1/2 pound Pomeranian to Gerber baby food ( Turkey ). Pedigree is not listed on the Menu Foods recall page but there have been reported cases of sick pets and Pedigree has recalled some of its food. Walmart just issued this statement http://www.walmartfacts.com/articles/4910.aspx and Menu foods http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=070324234604.hfiw5vng&show_article=1

We lost our dog to the recall- we did not know what was wrong with her because the company did not release this important news until a month after we put our Brandy down. She began with soiling and discomfort- and within days she had neurological symptoms and then severe brain damage.
We would give her Beneful dry in the morning, and usually Pedigree pouches for dinner but would sometimes buy Mighty dog pouches (recalled) and on occasion I would buy for flavor variety Companion pouches (recalled).
Had I only stuck with the pedigree which I gave her 90% of the time we would still have Brandy here with us. I know first hand, had I given Brandy only pedigree, she would still be here with us. Don't even question- Pedigree is safe and I have given it to Brandy for 9 years of her life. I only wish I didn't worry about the variety of flavor and added in a few mighty dog and companion pouches- I want my dog back.
We have a new puppy now which I give him only Pro Plan dry and let it moisten up in Some Swanson Chicken Broth- I don't trust moist food right now as you could probably understand.
They are now claiming dry ol Roy and Iams may be contributing to illness as well. So anything on the wet list, apply that to dry as well. Do not buy any wet or dry brands on the wet recall list for now until this is resolved.
Stick with what you know- stick with Pedigree.
Many hugs, and hug your dog, you are lucky to still have him.
I miss Brandy so much. One day I am okay, the next day I am sobbing. Just cannot make sense of this. People just don't care anymore- if they did, 2 thousand pets would still be alive including our little girl.
Love to you
Karen

Don't know about Kirkland. The recall was for wet canned and pouch foods of a ton of different brands. No dry food. Pedigree was not on the recall list.

Pedigree *USA* is --NOT-- part of the Menu Foods glutein/ rat poison recall. The list above is fairly accurate. It seems that problems usually arise from the unsanitary conditions in certain southern asian processing plants. Although, most canned food companies have had problems at one time, the consumers best options are to search the FDA's website. They carry the list of the contaminated brands. If any sickness has occurred to your canine from eating a brand as Pedigree USA, do not scare people into linking your dogs health with recall rumors. Pedigree remains one of the "good" large manufacturers and they usually set good standards for processing. That being said, "I'm sorry your pet got ill". In a time of national pet crisis, do not make it worse to spread rumors about food not on the list. Its hard enough to guide people to safe choices for their pets.
Again PEDIGREE USA is SAFE from this recall..

I guess that they are supposed to be but I fed my dog pedigree last night and she is sick today. She isn't hyper like usual and is laying around alot and has vomited. so I am unsure if it should be recalled. Here is the list so far of the dog foods that are recalled.
Variety or Multi-Packs:
If you are in possession of a variety or multi-pack, please be sure to check the individual can or pouch rather than relying solely on the date coding on the side of the carton.

Ive used pedigree dog food for my dogs and I have a great dane who is 10 yrs, a doxie who is 9 yrs, and a basset hound who is 4 yrs. and just recently put down a mix breed who was 15 1/2 yrs old. And they are have done great and there is nothing wrong with them at all. My vet said all my dogs are in great health. I think its a great product. So yes, I would say pedigree is a safe food for dogs.

This was on there website (for pedigree anyway, its what I use for our dogs):
Dog lovers,
We would like you to know that PEDIGREE® Food For Dogs is not a part of the recent nationwide pet food recall initiated by Menu Foods and other companies. The safety of products not involved in the recall was validated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on March 23, 2007. According to the FDA, pet owners should feel confident feeding unrecalled products to their pets. All of our PEDIGREE® products remain a safe, nutritious and delicious way to feed your best friends.
As dog lovers ourselves, the safety and nutritional quality of our food is our top priority, and you should continue to feel confident feeding our food to your dog.
For details on the recall, contact Menu Foods at 1-866-895-2708, 1-866-463-6738 or visit the company's web site at: www.menufoods.com/recall.

In my opinion, no. My pit has been eating Pedigree dry food for the past 2 1/2 yrs. & she is very healthy, smart, active, stout & the best dog that i've ever had. I would stick with Pedigree DRY dog food. I dont trust any wet dog or cat food. Sams sells 55lb. bags of it for $16.
