hello April,
You are partly correct. JWs do receive a lot of attacks on web sites. This site seems to attack a lot of religions. Do an internt search and it seems as if everyone is attacking JWs for their beliefs.
You are correct just as Jesus was attacked for teaching something different to the orthodx religions of the day and was considered a cult leader, JWs are considered a cult by many people because our teachings, like those of Jesus, goes against what most see as the orthodox religions. eg we do not teach a trinity, helfire, imortal soul. Nearly every other christain religous group does.
By the way the word hell is found in many Bibles and is miss translated from the original words that mean pit or grave.
Some of the things peopole sayin "put downs" are partially true, and because they sound true with some documented back up it is easy for others to fal into the trap that it is true. But you are correct, nothing bad that is said about JWs (as a whole) is correct. (unfortunately some individuals do ley the side down)

I think your wrong
I don't think that Jehovah's witnesses are the most attacked. I think Muslims are currently the most attacked and then Catholics. Although when Catholics get attacked for some scandal you may notice an onslaught of newspapers talking about scandals in other religions. Like if that makes what they did any less bad.
Jehovah's witnesses are probably the ones that have the hardest time being accepted in there respective countries due to the fact they refuse military service and won't salute the flag.

"
By the way, is it just me or do Jehovah Witnesses always travel in pairs? I'm curious as to why that is if it's true."
Yes both them and Mormons.
Darin P Said:
"Be glad that people are just "attacking" the Jehovah's Witnesses' doctrine instead of taking the lives of those who follow the doctrine"
Untrue, your ignorant to what goes on abroad. Jehovah's Witnesses exist illegally in the countries you mentioned and are also attacked. So why don't you hear about it?
There too small a group so it's not seen as significant. Also I know that in the case of Cuba the government had a good hold of the information that left the place so people outside wouldn't hear of the different religions that were persecuted.
The Jehovah's witnesses weren't the only religion attacked, but in the case of Cuba they were the ones the government hated the most. I all ready said why in the first part of my post.
There was another small religion known for preaching in Cuba which was heavily persecuted at first, but basically disappeared at the beginning of the ban. Cubans nicknamed them "Batti blancos". Which was later used to refer to Jehovah's witnesses b/c of there preaching work.

I have to strongly disagree that Jehovah's Witnesses are the only religion under attack. Anyways, "attack" is too strong of a word when you consider the extremely violent religious conflicts that have occurred in the recent past or are taking place around the world today.
(1) The war in Bosnia-Herzegovina was among three faith groups - Muslim, Roman Catholic, & Serbian Orthodox Christians.
(2) Kosovo - Serbian Orthodox Christians & Muslims
(3) Northern Ireland - Catholic & Protestant
(4) Iraq - Kurds, Shiite Muslims, Sunni Muslims
(5) Middle East - Jews, Muslims, & Christians
(6) Too many religious conflicts to list...
How many Jehovah's Witnesses in the United States are dying for their beliefs today?
People will always have disagreements about religion. In the US, we are lucky. We do not experience merciless and relentless religious attacks like most of the world. For the most part, our religions coexist peacefully. Be glad that people are just "attacking" the Jehovah's Witnesses' doctrine instead of taking the lives of those who follow the doctrine.
Maybe there have been some Jehovah's Witnesses around the world that have been physically attacked that I am not aware of, but the real problem is that in your question you state in capital letters "that the ONLY religion that people attack is Jehovah's Witnesses." So, if you can't even aknowledge that other religions have clearly been attacked, how can you expect other people to sympathize with or even believe as you do.
Joel C. says that I am "ignorant to what goes on abroad." Maybe I am ignorant as far as the Jehovah's Witnesses are concerned. I guess since I don't follow the Jehovah's Witnesses as closely as he does, that means I know nothing about other religious conflicts around the world. Anyways, I don't really care because the way people discuss religion in general is very dangerous and accomplishes nothing. Everyone believes they are 100% right, so their religious beliefs are forced onto others through emotional and often angry dialogue or through physical assault and sometimes murder in other parts of the world.
I hate to rain on anyone's parade, but none of us are ever completely right. No religion on this Earth has all the answers. Honestly, we all need to use a little more common sense, myself included.
Have you ever believed in something with all your heart and soul, and then later realized that you had been wrong all along? I know I have, and most honest people would also say yes. It is good to have strong beliefs and conviction; however, we should not let our pride falsely lead us believe that everything we believe today will be true for us tomorrow (especially in regard to religion).
I know it's hard to believe, but yes, even someone following the supposed one true religion or faith can be mistaken. So, next time you try to "lock horns" with someone who has your same conviction but a different religion, just relax a little. Get to know them and where their beliefs come from and really listen to them. If you act and feel like a helpless victim that is always under attack and on the defensive, then that will always be your reality. Relax and allow people to disagree with you, or others will become defensive also. It is only when our guard is let down and nobody is attacking that we are heard and our point is made.

RELIGIONS
Religion was in the days of Jesus, it was all wrong, they had eyes and they could not see, they had ears and they could not hear.
All through the bible, the prophets, Jesus and the apostles Paul and all the apostles could say this, " they have eyes and they can not see, they have ears and they can not hear." The heavenly are meant to see Luke 8:6-10;
By them, all possible for God and Christ comes to be, in heaven and on earth.
Religion came first and then the bible came, religion from 1300 or so, had the bible at 1611 CE and everything heard in the world was gossip, all this gossip keeps people from seeing what is in the bible, all they see is contridictions to religious beliefs, so the bible, in their thinking is wrong and religion is right.
Imagine, they are calling the bible a lie, imagine people who are learning it is truth and opposite of the gossip of world religion and its practices.
This is the place all the bible students were before they exchanged all those worldly religion teachings for bible understanding in serious study, it takes over three years to make a transformation from worldly religion beliefs and pagan practices to see the facts that the bible is presenting. On your own.
Because worldly religion and pagan practices came first, and all persons in the world have been there and done that Rev.18:1-6; EVEN PEOPLE WHO
ARE TRYING TO GET IT RIGHT CAN GET IT WRONG?
ABOUT PEOPLE WHO ARE TRYING TO GET IT CORRECT: Jesus knows the struggle, [ the Jews got it wrong, he read the minds of the Pharisees ], these people who try, could be 60 percent wrong, and still be 100 percent right for all the effort it takes to began a transformation toward correct, so if Jesus comes to take over the earth after he already has his heavenly with him Rev.20:1-6,12,13; and no Satan, Matt.25:31-34; The goat is different from the sheep, the sheep will be alive at his coming Matt.5:3-9;
Rev.7:9-17; The survivors of the tribulation are those who know he is coming and the tribulation aside from facing all kinds of heat in the end time, is knowing Jesus is coming and no one will listen as 2Tim.3:1-7; They just never get the insight of the seeking to know the truth and Matt.10:34-38; The make fun of those who do and family members teach anyone what true worldly is all about, they have the power and hate to be so like Satan. So Jesus did warn truth seekers that they would be hated by the worldly.
JESUS CAN COMMUNICATE WITH PEOPLE WHO ARE TRYING TO GET IT RIGHT AND CORRECT TO SEEK TRUTH FROM GOD AND CHRIST THAT THEY MIGHT BE PLEASED WITH THE EFFORT AS JESUS SAYS THOSE OF THE LIGHT AND NOT OF THE DARKNESS.
A person that begins to go from darkness to light has a lot of mental transformation to experience, they have been brainwashed from a child into what ever they are surrounded with, they have not considered that it could be wrong, once they do, it is a shocking experience.
This can happen to a person that decides to read the bible and when they see the difference in what it says and what they are taught that it says, and they discard that teaching, but all friends and family are not going to do that, so this is another shocking experience, the more bible study one does and the more they realize what they are surrounded by, the more they want to turn away from any who like to call them selves a religion.
I do not see Genesis to Revelations as religion, God's word, the truth, the way or just giving true facts on what the bible has to say. John 8:32; 17:17;
The facts are so important.
If a religion makes a mistake, what ever number of persons is in that religion, that mistake belongs to each and every one of them, if you join with them, that mistakes belong to you as well. All those in the religion may be innocent of the mistake, but you are guilty of it, if you know it is there.
So imagine being in a religion from childhood to learn the biggest part of it is mistakes and mistaken, just because you could not stop reading the bible?
Did Jesus know Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, Samuel, David, Solomon, Elijah, Isaiah and Jonah?

Mormon's also get a lot of fallout. Christians and Muslims have been at it for thousands of years. Actually, the Buddhists have taken their share of bloody persecution too. A little history study will reveal this too you. In fact, pretty much all the religions have waged war between themselves for a long, long, long time. Man has inflicted cruelty upon man for religion, land, women, money...it's a war-raging planet.

Hi. Yes there are a sizable amount of attacks on Witnesses but we certainly are not the only ones. In general there are 30 open questions on Witnesses on here each day. Sadly I would gestimate only about 10% of those are noninsulting "questions".

I hear you. But! JW is a made up religion.Brought about by a man in the mid 1800's. The JW rewrote the scriptures to their convenience. JW are good people, don't get me wrong. But, good don't get you into heaven. Faith gets you into heaven. Faith in Jesus Christ, and the resurrection. JW's believe that works get you into heaven but according to the scriptures it is by faith, and not that of works so no man may boast (JW's took that part out of their bible).
Other things that are contrary to the bible that JW's believe are the last days. JW's believe that we've been in the last days for about 150 yrs. But the scriptures says we've been in the last days for almost 2000yrs.
I'm not going to tell you to each is his own because to me thats an excuse. But, my concern is this- if the bible teaches us that people who add or take away from the word of God are cursed, then I want to help them. I want to witeness to them the ressurected Christ who sits at the rigt hand of the most high God.
And by the way, God's name is not Jehovah- it's YHWH (Ex.3:14). Jehovah means Lord but YHWH means I AM, and is the greatest name for God.
I pray that you understand what I tell you, and evenmore I pray earnestly that you look a little deeper than the surface on faith. It's souls we're talking about here, not material things.

April let me ask you a question. Have you ever been filled with the Holy Spirit? Like they did in Acts Ch. 2? The Pentecost? What is the evidence of the Holy Spirit? One is speaking in new tongues. Do you speak in new tongues? I didn't think so. You can't say you know what th Holy Spirit is if you put limits on it and say what it can and cannot do. I was a witness, then I seen the light and the Truth. I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior and through Him I have gotten close to God. His Glory surrounds those who seek Him whole heartedly. And for those who don't put Him His Son or the Holy Spirit in a box. His Power and Might is more than we can comprehend. His was are not our own. There better!
God Bless you April as you seek the truth.

Up close and personal Jehovah's Witnesses can be wolves in sheep's clothing.
Think about this-When the devil comes knocking on your door he may not have the 'dark goth look'.They could be smartly dressed and wielding the Christian Bible.
The central core dogma of the Watchtower is Jesus second coming (invisibly) in 1914 and is a lie.Jehovah's Witnesses are a spin-off of the man made Millerite movement of 1840.
A destructive cult of false teachings, that frequently result in spiritual and psychological abuse, as well as needless deaths (bogus blood transfusion ban).
Yes,you can 'check out anytime you want but you can never leave',because they can and will hold your family hostage.
The Watchtower is a truly Orwellian world.
