Since he likes Einstein and he's smart, how about a tour of the National Fermi Accelerator Laboratory in Batavia, IL? Seriously, how about a Membership to your local zoo, or something that will enrich his experience?

Check out www.fisherprice.com for a bunch of suggestions for this age group. My 1 year old son loves his shape sorters and anything that makes noise or sings to him. He also love his fisher price 4 wheel trike, I think it's called the Ready Steady Rider.

If you have room to hang it, a toddler swing you can hang inside is a useful present. We bought one for our 4 year old when he was little and he used it heaps and our 2 year old daughter uses it nearly every day.

Another suggestion is a tricycle with a handle you can push or a table and chair set, good luck with your shopping.

the best thing i found are the little bikes that have the handle on the back so you can push him but he thinks he is making it go all by himself then when he gets a little older he will still be able to ride it cause the handles come off...they see them at walmart or toysrus or places like that....makes them feel like big kids...my daughter loves hers and she is now 2...

Something educational.

He will just outgrow any clothes you buy in a few weeks.

I would look for an educational toy or video as you mentioned.

Whatever toy you get, he's going to only want to play with the box it came in.
