Your argument would have more force if it were based on accurate information.

The ACLU is not supporting, let alone protecting, pedophiles or Nambla's in any illegal acts..

The ACLU is defending Nambla on an issue of free speech that is protected by the Constitution, and by protecting that free speech is ensuring the safety of YOUR Constitional rights. It does not, and never has, meant that the ACLU supports NAMBLA or endorses their beliefs.

Protecting your kids from pedophiles is a laudable goal--attacking the ACLU does nothing to achieve that. Get the facts, then direct your energies at the proper target.

I agree with your outrage, but gathering together and protesting isn't going to stop sexual predators anymore than the slap-on-the-wrist prison sentences do.

The sad fact is that most pedophiles are NOT caught, and the ones that ARE have intimidated their victums to the point where the testimony against them is either too weak to convict them or just plain non-existant. Let's face it - children are perfect targets. Most children accept people as they are, without making snap judgments based on appearance or reputation the way adults do. And they're easier to bully into silence.

Pedophiles are very, very good at hiding their perversion. That makes it very, very difficult to spot them before they act out, prosecute them once they have, and accurately gauge whether or not they can control themselves in general society. And there are always the bad seeds who make false accusations to punish their ex-spouse, their outcast relatives, etc. And some neglected children cry these false accusations to get the attention their parents never give them. So, until you can find a way to have a jury read someone's mind to know the truth behind the accusations, the law will always err on the side of protecting the potentially innocent rather than unanimously convincting people accused of crimes they may not have committed.

i agree. theres a man on my street who is a registered pedophile charged with molesting small boys. he is outside every day when the kids are waiting for the bus and getting off in the afternoon. if he ever even talks to my son i will attack him. as far as i am concerened he has no rights as a human being. i homeschool my son so he isn't out there but still, creepy. and i too believe if they did it once, they will do it again. its like drugs, you can't just be curious. it takes a sick person to touch a child in those ways. they should be given the death penalty. life, they don't deserve it, in any form. thank GOD we are moving to a comminity where there are at least none registered. if they pop up, it is a very tight nit place from way back and unwanted types are driven out. Good place to be. family has been there for 5 generations.
