I just broke up with my boyfriend of 4 years, and my best friend has been in love (not like, love) with since we met about two years ago. He does not know that I know, but he gets really depressed and confused about if he should tell me that he loves me or not. I don't know if I should let him know that I already know, or just let it run its course. I am not really interested in dating him, but I dont want to lead him on either.

If you are not interested tell him so. I hate to break it to you, but all of your "guy friends" like you and its just the way it is. I dont know you personally so I hope im wrong, but I feel like maybe you would have told him already if you didnt kind of like the attention and enjoy the fact of knowing someone likes you. I really hope that isnt the case, but be honest with yourself, and just let him know how you feel. He has been close to you for all this time because he has always thought and hoped that he has a shot with you.

Try setting your best friend up on a blind date. This might get him to open up and be honest with his feelings to you and then you can tell him how you really feel. And besides maybe the blind date you fix him up with may be the one for him and you won't have to worry anymore. But then again some people do marry their best friend. That's always nice if it works out. (Mainly in the movies). Just kidding. Good luck.

i think u should let him know. even if ure not attracted to him, its the best thing to do.. cuz then at least ure not leading him on.. and giving him hope in having u as more than a friend.

In my opinion, you need to wait until he will take the first step and talk to you about it.Then, Be honest about your feelings for him. You must be not ready for other relationship yet. go with the flow...

Wait til he tells you.

Give him some hints - "We are just friend" when you two are hanging out.
