With the stop watch I timed the bird from the time it sat on the tree to the time it flew away...this is how I measured the 'wait' of the bird.

If all you have is a stop watch ,then all you can measure is the wait of the bird, no more no less.

but why weight and not wait
wait:the time in the stop watch from when the bird is sitting till it flew

By ordinary means, using a weighing scale. But first I would have would to get the bird down, by hitting it unconscious with the stop watch.
