He could either miss you or possilby stalking/harassing you. If you told him to leave you alone and he hasn't, get yourself an order of protection. Just be careful if he isn't leaving you alone.

Your ex misses you and he wants you back. He probably feels lonely without you by his side and he probably realizes what an idiot he is for letting you go. Most of all he could miss your love. The other side is he couldn't get over you and now he wants you back so bad that he's scaring you and ultimately hurting you and himself.
