If the blood is bright red it's coming from the "tail end" of your digestive tract and could be quite harmless. It happened to me after I gave birth because of the drop in hormone levels. (It hurt like hell, though.) I've also gotten mucus in my stool from having irritable bowel syndrome--another thing that makes life less than fun but is not dangerous.
That doesn't mean that you should disregard your symptoms. You should inform your doctor if this is something new.
Black, "coffee-grounds" stools are signs of intestinal bleeding. Take it seriously.

after seeing either specs of blood or loose blood in stool, could either mean there is a rip in the retal area, usually from constapation, and long hard stool, and if it persists more than 2 times see a doctor, which would mean either it hasnt healed, and or it is more serious, and should see a doctor if happens more than tweice in a week.

Blood could be a sign of some problem and you should discuss this with your doctor ..... soon! Mucus alone is probably not a problem.

Blood in the stools is something that has to be checked by the doc right away. It might only be hemorrhoids but you still need to see the doc and get it checked out.
