The easiest and cheapest solution is to buy a card reader for $10 at any computer/ electronics store. Just make sure that it (also) accepts SmartMedia cards. Not all of them do.
You then remove the SmartMedia card from the camera, pop it into the card reader, the card reader comes with a USB cable to attach to your computer, and you can copy/ move the pictures to your computer with Windows Explorer (or similar on a Mac/ Linux machine).
