Yes, and if you mix butter and some flies, then you can make pretty butterflies.

No you cannot make peanut butter with peanuts and butter. Here is a good recipe for PB.

Ingredients
1 1/2 c. unsalted roasted peanuts
1 tbsp. peanut oil

Utensils:
food processor
bowl
mixing spoon
storage container
measuring cups and spoons

For smooth peanut butter:
Mix the peanuts with the peanut oil, and pour the mixture into the food processor.
Process the mixture until it's very smooth.
Store your smooth peanut butter in a sealed container in the fridge. It will be good for 2 weeks.

For chunky peanut butter:
Take about 1/4 cup out of your 1 1/2 cups of peanuts and set them aside.
Mix the rest of the peanuts with the oil, and pour the mixture into the food processor.
Process the mixture until it's very smooth, then stir in the peanuts that you had set aside.
Process a few seconds more to create the chunks in your chunky peanut butter.
Store your chunky peanut butter in a sealed container in the fridge. It will be good for 2 weeks.

That's not how you make peanut butter, I'll tell you that much. There's no butter in peanut butter. Also, the peanut butter you get at the store is fine. Just avoid Peter Pan. I had three PB&J sandwiches today & I'm fine. If you still insist, check the link below.

Read the ingredients, it not have Butter. ;-)
Most anything can be homemade, you just need to read the ingredients.
Mayo is so simple it funny. I make my own and you would love my homemade Blue Cheese Dressing (If, you like blue cheese), oh man, I eat that stuff on Ritz Crackers.
I make Peanut Butter and Potato Chips, even Butter, and the children love my Little Ice Cream kits I make for them, just add ice and salt, it fun and you NEVER taste better than homemade.

You should not need to add any butter, I remember a friend used to take regular peanuts and grind them up into peanut butter, it was good.

You can make any nut butter you wish! Just put the nuts in a food processor and process until you have the butter! If you want to add sugar you can. I'd recommend the powdered kind.

i think peanut butter is made up of peanuts and some salt and water...no butter.

you love all peanuts, and everything that comes in between, you say? well, i do love peanut butter. but please be a little cautious of the peanut oil used for frying. there are claims that it is not healthy, canola oil is the healthiest. just do a little healthcheck on that..

Skip the butter - more likely Olive Oil is the thing for it, and I would combine fresh peanuts and olive oil in a magic bullet or blendery thing.

There are recipes on line - here's one: http://kidshealth.org/kid/recipes/recipes/peanut_butter.html

If you are going to make it yourself, why not use cashew, macadamia, almond or walnut as an even healthier alternative.

Peace!
