I hope people don't think I am trying to be funny whe I say I get the impression fro scriptures that there is gonna be some serious partying. A number of scriptures point to much celbrating going on. More joy in heaven... The banquet where the man says go out and tell them come in and when they didn't he gathered up those who were less esteemed to come in. The prodigals sons father who through a feast when his son returned.

In heaven one can have no wants (wanting is a form of suffering).
So long as you want to keep doing things, and have not surrendered to God you remain in purgatory(or if you are more inclined toward easter philosophies, the cycle of reincarnation will continue until one has transcended all dualistic attatchments). Heaven is perfect...and because we lack the ability to concieve of perfection, we describe it in terms of activities(singing and dancing)...because we associate activities with pleasure...but pleasure is fleeting and transient...and heaven is not transient...it is eternally perfect.

Who would we be without our separate brain stems? One big slurpy sea of love? Without our skins to make us seem separate, what would be left of us. Our individuality arises from what we perceive with this sensory tool that is our body. Without it, what is left? Now that's an interesting thing to explore. You might go on for bit, carrying the sense of being separate, but in time, the memory would grow dim, and finally disintegrate. I don't think we'll spend a lot of time wondering what to do.

What is it that causes boredom? Selfishness. The feeling of, I want to be gratified, I want to be pandered to, I want to be indulged, I want to be excited, I, I, I. But in Heaven there will be no selfishness. There will be continual excitement, discovery, anticipation, gratitude, praise, and the joy of being a partner in an eternal adventure with God Himself. The Bible says there are no words (to our understanding) that can describe it. It's going to be fun. Don't like being bored? Try Hell.

I was leaning towards the silly muslims' idea of there being 72 virgins but I guess that they wouldn't last long. About ten days?
Perhaps all the virgins are ugly and obese and hairy and ...
Maybe there's non-stop beach volleyball with just girls from Brazil ... or anywhere! Hopefully it's not really non-stop and they can make time for other activities.

"Beyond what you can think or imagine."

That is what Paul said.

Why does every one think Heaven is an eternal church service?

The Church is to help you get by on earth

In Heaven we will both see and experience things unimaginable on earth.
